two random swatches to start the week

Hey guys! Again, it has been a few crazy days in the life of Rebecca and the blog has taken the backseat.
That's what happens when one of your best friends gets married and you have to do 12 sets of nails for the bridal party (half gel half polish) in about 8 hours plus work that night and every other day of the week and attend a friend's birthday party and oh yeah, sleep.

I was digging through my folders of random photos I've saved to post sometime but have yet to get around to and found these two swatches that got left out of the last random swatch post I did. So here they are all by their lonely selves.

Essie - Don't Sweater It
This name makes me laugh. Some people hate punny names but I embrace them! This is a neutral brown color that looks great on anyone and is always appropriate for any type of situation, such as a job interview where you may not wanna wear lime green.
I got this on clearance (shocker) a few months ago for two or three dollars.
It is not unique in my stash but if you don't already have a nice shade like this, here's a good option because the formula is nice! Just 2 coats.

OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts
I don't believe I paid full price for this either which is probably a good thing because I don't adore it. It took three coats which was a bit much considering I have basically the same color from China Glaze which only takes two coats. (Recycle.)
The pigment settles weird in the bottle too, it always looks like it needs a vigorous shake but that doesn't blend the pigment in properly. Eh, OPI has a few fails sometimes. Sometimes.

I should do some more cleaning out of my swatch folders. Perhaps this week!

  1. Neutrals are nice... I like the Essie one. Punny names rock :D and I have all kinds of shimmery and holo browns but only one creme! Might have a look around and see if I can find this one anywhere.

I hope you got pics of the bridal-party nails! I want to see 'em :D

  3. Hi Rebecca! I just started my very first nail blog and I was wondering if you could check it out. I have read every single one of your posts down to the very first one and it inspired me to make a blog of my own. The URL is nailsbybria.blogspot.com
    Thanks so much!!
