Hope you're doing fine on this Friday evening.<br />
<br />
I'm sure you're all familiar with the handy app TimeHop, and how it sends you down memory lane basically every day. Two days ago, it reminded me of <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2011/02/more-shatter-okay.html">this post</a> and how obsessed I was with OPI's Black Shatter (and every other shatter for that matter.)<br />
It gave me the sudden urge to play with that old forgotten shatter again, and I decided to go full-flashback and recreate the mani!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBOuqCCE2bcqPmz5Kva_HsTiXwvs5ZiuUGO46MX8656fKLYE7jx5KbGPBknoYMHS0oBHW5XTR7B0nHljhak7JWpuwhpKppbp2sZJeJkhL2im9djeVLFD6mzprdxNHguvVKpr9Hr4brDpvX/s1600/shatter3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBOuqCCE2bcqPmz5Kva_HsTiXwvs5ZiuUGO46MX8656fKLYE7jx5KbGPBknoYMHS0oBHW5XTR7B0nHljhak7JWpuwhpKppbp2sZJeJkhL2im9djeVLFD6mzprdxNHguvVKpr9Hr4brDpvX/s640/shatter3.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is <b>OPI - Black Shatter</b> over <b>China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint</b>.<br />
<br />
When I pulled out my main bottle of Black Shatter, it was a sad sight because it had dried up into one little piece inside the bottle. I'm not sure if it'll come back to life, but I put in a bunch of polish thinner and had my boyfriend shake it for a while. I'm still letting it sit, but hopefully it can be revived.<br />
I happened to have an untouched backup that was totally fine, and all the rest of my OPI shatters were fine as well. (My China Glaze ones bit the dust two years ago).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I totally still dig the look, its edgy and easy.<br />
How long has it been since you played with shatter? Shake those babies up and give it another go!rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com525tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-78169363232473910182016-02-16T22:09:00.000-03:302016-02-16T22:09:33.287-03:30OPI Hello Kitty Collection - May Pal Joey + Charmmy & SugarHey everyone! You may have seen my Instagram post hinting that a long-overdue blog post may be necessary thanks to the unbearably cute new Hello Kitty collection from OPI.<br />
If you've been following me for a few years, you definitely know two things:<br />
1) I love Hello Kitty.<br />
2) I love OPI.<br />
Which brings us to the conclusion that <i>clearly </i>I need this collection. Bad.<br />

<br />
For whatever stupid and disappointing reason, my local professional beauty supply that carries OPI is not getting the collection. Which makes me real sad because I was hoping to pick up the entire thing there (including the little display that they all would come in.)<br />
Wait a second... I wonder if my Sally Beauty supply would have the display and let me have that one? Hmmm.....<br />
<br />
Anyway, I promptly hopped onto my favorite trusty polish website, <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/">Nail Polish Canada</a>, and I picked up the Collector's Edition set that comes in the little pop-up box, with six polishes inside. (I also totally want the little train case type thing I've seen around but I'm sure that's out of my current polish price range. But a girl can dream?) So that set is on the way to me now, but in the meantime, I also hit up my local Winners and found a huge full display with 3 of each polish. How did they get it right away? Who knows. But I picked up the two I wanted most that weren't in the 6-piece set!<br />
<br />

<br />
<b>OPI - My Pal Joey</b><br />
Now, this isn't an original color or anything, but it is a really great royal blue with a dreamy formula. It takes two smooth coats to get it perfect, and I experienced no staining which can sometimes be a problem with blues this pigmented.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmrK9UYlsSZW9nUAPG06AK4faOY8MFhDSaGegUO9jp6_TvBpZP-1eGCNP0SwUbEC9CnZrNCZIGXfS84733NqDe_HQ1fq1QcBH8p9QgdMC_FJBhnSbB0bRje-shmJnW_pODqx_RryLogHNF/s1600/charmmy2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmrK9UYlsSZW9nUAPG06AK4faOY8MFhDSaGegUO9jp6_TvBpZP-1eGCNP0SwUbEC9CnZrNCZIGXfS84733NqDe_HQ1fq1QcBH8p9QgdMC_FJBhnSbB0bRje-shmJnW_pODqx_RryLogHNF/s640/charmmy2.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>OPI - Charmmy & Sugar</b><br />
This is a cute and girly shimmer/glitter polish best used as a topcoat. The shimmer is pink with a duochrome flash and the bigger glitter bits consist of pinks and silver and a blue/green.<br />
<br />
I brought it home thinking I had nothing like it at all in my collection! But upon arriving home, I realized I had something practically identical. You'd think this wouldn't happen to me after I've weaned off my polish buying so significantly, but no. I perused a few other people's reviews of the collection, and googled their names together but couldn't find anyone else who made the connection between these two polishes (probably because not a lot of people buy MAC nail polish besides MAC hoarders, who aren't necessarily also nail polish hoarders).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<b>OPI - Charmmy & Sugar vs MAC Just Jewels</b><br />
As you can see, these are basically identical. The MAC one has slightly less of the larger glitters throughout, but not enough to really make a difference so if you already own it, you don't need the other. The MAC shade has been long sold out though (it was in the Heirloom Mix collection for Holiday 2014) so if these glitters are catching your eye, pick up the OPI! It's cheaper, anyway.<br />
<br />
Jeez, I guess posting so rarely causes me to ramble on and on when I do get around to posting! Hope you guys don't mind!<br />
After noticing that I only scrounged up 7 posts in 2015, I've decided that I'm gonna try to come up with something to post at least every 2 weeks for the rest of the year. It might not happen, thanks to grad school, but I'll give it a shot! Got any suggestions for things you might like to see around here?<br />
Until next time!rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com272tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-66799477260557697072015-10-16T00:23:00.000-02:302015-10-16T00:29:13.569-02:30ILNP - Party Of FourOkay, when it comes to indie nail polish, I am totally out of the loop. Like way out of the loop. So far out of the loop that I don't know if I could ever get back in.<br />
I had a couple of pretty bad (read: <i>awful</i>) experiences in the early days of the indie craze. Stained nails, awful polishes, poor quality. And while I'm sure there are still things like that going on, holy crap, some of the brands have stepped up their game.<br />
<br />
I was going through some old pictures I had never gotten around to posting, and came across these swatches of an old ILNP shade from back in the day. Looking at the pictures just now prompted me to check out <a href="http://www.ilnp.com/">their website</a>. OMG. Cue the drooling. Ultra chrome? Ultra chrome flakies? Holographic ultra chrome flakies? What even. Someone get me one of those, stat.<br />
<br />
Anyway, in case you ever stumble upon some older ILNP shades in a blog sale or what have you, here's a nice one to check out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b>ILNP - Party of Four</b><br />
This polish is a glitter topper with pink, blue, silver and black glitters. Lots of different shapes and sizes but it forms a cohesive look that I am super into.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh715lqYnT-5vhU0RnRtVRaut9lF03OByQzhzvq5lNJm5eQRKR0xS7M3GnnO0Rp983S1axSmwNEVuwk16USlMJ956dhsSFp7LdV0Z0VX5LpZSu_LwxrQBNrcKhornz_8yEYY9em3pCAwRV9/s1600/party2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh715lqYnT-5vhU0RnRtVRaut9lF03OByQzhzvq5lNJm5eQRKR0xS7M3GnnO0Rp983S1axSmwNEVuwk16USlMJ956dhsSFp7LdV0Z0VX5LpZSu_LwxrQBNrcKhornz_8yEYY9em3pCAwRV9/s640/party2.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I can't tell you for certain what base color I was wearing, but I thiiiink it was <b>OPI - The Violet-ter, The Better</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I also made the whole look softer and milkier with a coat of <b>OPI - Don't Touch My Tutu</b>. I like it even better this way!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
ILNP is definitely a great example of an indie brand that is 100% on par with the big brands, if not even better. I'm glad I have a couple of the old shades but I need to grab some new ones!<br />
<br />
So tell me, what are some of your favorite tried-and-true indie brands? Anything I am hardcore missing out on?<br />
<br />
I'm off to draft some more posts. Until next time!rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com557tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-90814485714714422002015-09-30T00:01:00.000-02:302015-09-30T00:01:35.102-02:30catch up haul! miss me?Hey everyone! Look at that - I was on unplanned hiatus again. Whoops. Did you miss me? Let's catch up.<br />
<br />
I don't even really have a good excuse this time for being inactive, so I totally admire bloggers who have a full time job and families and stuff and still manage to blog on the regular because clearly I am not capable and I don't even have a job at the moment (and certainly no kids). I am in grad school, so there's one decent excuse I suppose.<br />
<br />
I've also got this prettttty great new boyfriend (Hi, Andy!) who's been bugging me to get back on the blogging game because he thinks it's really cool (because duh, it is). He even helped me organize some of my nail polish AND make swatch sticks. Legit. So, he's a keeper, and I'm sure he will keep reminding me to stay on track. I know it seems like a lot of the blogging world has transitioned to mostly Instagram and quicker platforms like that but hey, someone's still gotta keep writing a whole bunch of nail polish nonsense somewhere to keep us all in the know.<br />
<br />
I've got a few goals in mind for this new blogging spurt, which I will hopefully make good on:<br />
1) Learn about all the new and upcoming stuff so I don't feel left out.<br />
2) Get my Facebook page up to 10,000 likes. (It's been so close for so long!)<br />
3) Have a blog sale. (Lemme know in the comments if you'd be interested in that!)<br />
4) Run a sweet giveaway!<br />
<br />
Anyway. I haven't done a haul post since February. So there's six months in there plus most of September that I haven't done (or even thought about). And obviously, being somewhat out of the game, my polish shopping has gotten way, way less shameful. But I still have my moments. Let's see what I can remember...<br />
<br />

My friend Tracy came to my rescue when she spotted the China Glaze Electric Nights collection at our local beauty supply this spring. I was stuck at work all week that week and never would have made it there before the good stuff sold out, so not only did Tracy pick them up for me, but she delivered them to my work. Can I get an amen? Thank you Tracy!<br />

And because I clearly have amazing friends, my pal Jessica sent me a message at like 1 AM one night letting me know there was a huge bin of Nicole by OPI polishes for FIFTY CENTS at a supermarket near me. So naturally I went right away. And got every color. Because duh.<br />

</b> I needed to be restrained in the Lancome company outlet in Florida because they carry Urban Decay now. Almost just said "I'll have one of everything" but I showed some restraint. The whole thing pictured above only cost $68 so you knowww the deals were insane. My haul included the Electric nail polish trio:<br />
<br />
<b>Urban Decay - Deep End</b><br />
<b>Urban Decay - Gold Mine</b><br />
<b>Urban Decay - Woodstock</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
Other than that, a few random purchases I can recall include:<br />
<b>L'Oreal Color Riche - Hello Captain</b><br />
<b>Essence - Glitz & Glam</b><br />
<b>Essence - Under The Sea</b><br />
<b>Essence - Underwater Love</b><br />
<b>Essence - Rock My World</b><br />
<b>Nicole by OPI - A Million Sparkles</b><br />
<br />
PHEW! I made it. I think. I definitely missed some in there but who knows what.<br />
<br />
It feels good to be typing to you here in this little white box once again - I hope at least some of you are still subscribed to me and excited to hear from me. Drop me a comment below and say hi! And I'll see you again soon. </div>

I've got some amazing nails for you today if I do say so myself! (And I do say so.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1Im875rktlNvQ_ZvFly0rUN-_JR5fRjgwTckfe5WMmQ9ol0rM4c1zuymlZYWl6iAOVSECUrqVM9U-SndR0IuyV_1vebKzyZOKlT3tg8Cy28sNB74EiFL-xv0y_EFEHaSyMHeM5q0Ww_aO/s1600/mermaid.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1Im875rktlNvQ_ZvFly0rUN-_JR5fRjgwTckfe5WMmQ9ol0rM4c1zuymlZYWl6iAOVSECUrqVM9U-SndR0IuyV_1vebKzyZOKlT3tg8Cy28sNB74EiFL-xv0y_EFEHaSyMHeM5q0Ww_aO/s1600/mermaid.PNG" height="506" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Totally wanted to leave these on for the rest of my life.<br />
<br />
The base color for this mani is a new-ish one from Essence (it came out in Canada in maybe October or November), called <b>Aquatix Bay</b>, I did three coats for best coverage.<br />
The seashell stamping image is from the <b>Cheeky</b> summer collection, plate <b>CH-38</b>.<br />
I used a <b>Mundo de Unas</b> stamping polish. I think it's called Lilac. They stamp sooooo amazingly.<br />
I added some rhinestones and pearls to continue with the mermaid effect.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

BTW - Any of my polish friends out there in sunny Florida wanna take me to the Iggy Azalea concert in May? I'll be there for vacation with my fam, and at this rate, I'ma be taking my mom to see Iggy Iggs.rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com195tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-14003887929833368842015-03-04T23:25:00.000-03:302015-03-04T23:32:09.344-03:30january/february haul 2015Hey everyone! I know y'all love these haul posts, so sorry if you've been having haul-withdrawal since November. I actually don't think I bought a single polish in December (Christmas was busy!) so there was no haul for that, and then January was slow as well so I decided to lump it into one for Jan/Feb! <br />
It might be really hard actually for me to think back to what I have bought though. I need to start updating my spreadsheet on the regular like I used to! Maybe I'll get started on that after this post.<br />
<br />
Once again, I can't get my Instagram photos to embed properly like they always did before (anyone else having this problem?!) so I had to save them and upload them.<br />
So anyway, please <a href="http://www.instagram.com/rebeccalikesnails">follow me on IG</a> if you haven't already and you can see my haul pics in real time as they happen! Hahaha. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I ended up buying a bunch of Color Club at Winners. Are you surprised? (One of these was from the last haul though, I just happened to be labeling them all and took a photo.)<br />
They had four new collections there all at once and I basically had a mental breakdown trying to decide what to buy. I left one behind and now it'll probably haunt me forever. As per usual.<br />
I won't list all the individual names here, but the collections I did take home are: <b> </b><br />
<b>Poptastic Remix</b>, <b>Seven Deadly Sins</b>, and one half of the <b>Celebration</b> collection. <br />
I almost left the Seven Deadly Sins behind because I didn't realize that's what it was, but man I am glad I got it because I wanted to try their textured polishes!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I got these two ridiculously priced polishes on clearance at Winners:<br />
<b>Ciaté - Apples and Custard</b><br />
<b>Nails Inc - Ives Street</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Eob_KRXFhigIljzIXtaPG5g81b4h3fUyW6_OlyOuG7suwV4BBaEHfEQsLDVNUy0V_ZzgOTSOfwNmgjp6WvM3V5o-GkmWRhkjdIM8BtgC-_JAa434yPsc9TZct4pNHEZw-ti_Yt321lpz/s1600/glitter.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Eob_KRXFhigIljzIXtaPG5g81b4h3fUyW6_OlyOuG7suwV4BBaEHfEQsLDVNUy0V_ZzgOTSOfwNmgjp6WvM3V5o-GkmWRhkjdIM8BtgC-_JAa434yPsc9TZct4pNHEZw-ti_Yt321lpz/s1600/glitter.PNG" height="326" width="640" /></a></b></div>
<br />
Also at Winners, I found a ton of Formula X polishes from Sephora. Like, a TON. From all sorts of their collections. And they are $4.99 compared to the usual $13-16ish. I found six of the matte glitters and had to talk myself down from getting all six. So I got three:<br />
<b>Formula X - Crash </b>(the bright blue)<br />
<b>Formula X - TNT </b>(the dark blue)<br />
<b>Formula X - Maniacal </b>(the green)<b> </b><br />
<br />
I picked up my very first Enchanted Polish during a restock at <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/">Nail Polish Canada</a>. Haven't used it yet, but I plan to soon!<br />
<b>Enchanted Polish - Amazing</b><br />
<br />
Oh wait, I think I did get one polish in December! My bestie Dan did me a solid and while on vacation he picked me up a Mac nail polish that had sold out online before I could snag it. My first Mac polish, too!<br />
<b>Mac - Just Jewels </b><br />
<br />
That brings me to a total of 26 polishes, as long as I haven't missed anything!<br />
But I probably did.<br />

Happy Sunday! Today I am coming to you with some more ColourPop eyeshadow swatches. I mentioned in my first post that my friend Therese would be swatching her collection for our viewing pleasure, and oh boy, now I pretty much want every single color.<br />
<br />
Definitely check out the <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2015/02/colourpop-super-shock-shadow-swatches.html">first post</a> for all the details on the formula and stuff, but just know that these are super pigmented cream-to-powder shadows with amazing colors for just $5 each. <br />
<br />
Today I'll be showing you the matte shadows from ColourPop! These were a highly anticipated release, and I did show off three of them myself but Therese has all but one of them so here they are in their full glory. (We are only missing the matte black and I am sure you can imagine what that's like anyway.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A big thank you goes out to the wonderful Therese for these great swatches! And there are still plenty more to come. Like, lots. <br />
She wasn't sure she would have the skills to take good swatch photos but I think she did an amazing job, am I right? :D<br />
And again check out the <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2015/02/colourpop-super-shock-shadow-swatches.html">first post</a> for all you need to know about ColourPop. <br />

I'll see you soon with some nail posts. rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com50tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-50942144671584203202015-02-14T10:00:00.000-03:302015-02-14T10:00:01.050-03:30valentine's day smooches<br />
Hey everyone! You know what? I think I'm really committed to blog-revitalization this time. I even did nail art on myself like two times this week. That's a lot for me lately! I hope this is me coming back around to the nail game. I've missed it! <br /><br />I even did seasonally-appropriate nails. Valentine's Day nails!<br />
You may remember from years past that Tiffany from <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/">Nail Polish Canada</a> is my nail-valentine and this year is no different because she sent me another lovely plate to play with. <br />

Muah! Lil' kisses.<br />
I started with a base of <b>Formula X for Sephora </b>- <b>Hyped</b>, a super vibrant purple with amazing shimmer.<br />
It dries semi-matte as most neon purples do, so you're able to quickly go in and do some stamping.<br />
I stamped the lips image from <b>Bundle Monster BM-H17 </b>using a light pink stamping polish from <b>Mundo de Unas</b>.<br />
Add some Seche Vite and you're done! <br />

Super cute for Valentine's Day, or Galentine's Day! Hope you guys are having a lovely day whatever you're up to. <br />

Do you miss me? I know I am a total and complete space case when it comes to my blog of late, however I'm pretty into the idea of revitalizing it! Let's get some posts up in this bish!<br />
<br />
I gotta admit, I kinda spend more time on makeup than nails lately, so I'm hoping to try out some more makeup posts for the blog. And never fear, I do still love all things nails, I just have practically zero time to do my own between working full time plus grad school plus nail clients plus actually trying to have a social life sometimes. But I'm working on getting back into it! I'm not up on all the latest nail crazes, but I'm sure with a little help from you guys, I'll get there! <br />
<br />
So today I've got a makeup post ready for ya! I recently fell in love with a new product so now I'm gonna share it with all of you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuvotVPCR_4YVjkHk0MDibgO80I5DN87WqdL419BzMzbzxTpXG0Bi_FvRSdJFfbdvk7_94k_9rOwiZFHslyvgogTAq0_EhP6OYMJ5Ke4WM1P6g9KeoaUFUCaASv6oQffwhekoJEOMs4Ory/s1600/cp+5.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuvotVPCR_4YVjkHk0MDibgO80I5DN87WqdL419BzMzbzxTpXG0Bi_FvRSdJFfbdvk7_94k_9rOwiZFHslyvgogTAq0_EhP6OYMJ5Ke4WM1P6g9KeoaUFUCaASv6oQffwhekoJEOMs4Ory/s1600/cp+5.PNG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
If you've been living under a makeup rock, you might not have heard of ColourPop Cosmetics. They have been blowing up on Instagram and YouTube and practically everywhere else. And for good reason, too. They've got a beautiful range of eye shadows and lip products, and soon there will be blushes in the family as well. <br />
What makes their shadows different is the formula. The ColourPop Super Shock Shadows are like this totally different and unique texture that is a cream-to-powder type of deal. It's actually squishy. You have to touch it yourself to understand. And the ultra mega bonus is that they're all $5 a pop. FIVE BUCKS! That's not even a good sub at Subway. <br />
<br />
I have to say, when I first saw people obsessing over these I was like "Nahhh, this girl doesn't need another product to hoard. I'll pass." But the more I saw pictures and videos I was like YAASSS NEEED. The pigment is so intense, and the glittery ones are so stinkin' beautiful. I couldn't resist any longer. I bought ten.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG9koDtPkWobc_cChGw77JWFSu0tWsa0Feevesccs1Y9tFAtVG7xoOczmiODQzKBLe0hZNLdrja_8R7Gt98bhDjaIwiag470pKotgow6YTX-ayt_E_GILCWUPAD4VP7vTLi0Yo05ap8AKk/s1600/cp+6.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG9koDtPkWobc_cChGw77JWFSu0tWsa0Feevesccs1Y9tFAtVG7xoOczmiODQzKBLe0hZNLdrja_8R7Gt98bhDjaIwiag470pKotgow6YTX-ayt_E_GILCWUPAD4VP7vTLi0Yo05ap8AKk/s1600/cp+6.PNG" height="527" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Each shadow comes in a little box, and you have to keep the individual pots closed tightly when not in use because they can dry out and no one wants that. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkTvfJR0EiBNcJdiB_yq1TdYH7cr3ylRtCaGbh2JmRjQLPDZF6edueSgUslmKHo-EMECy94mQ1iFKA8AzezPzo2zJDfbNPqYu0CVx94kH8N1pn8aLexBj8Ro8PYrDx0mdkv9iRm0AqMefJ/s1600/cp+7.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkTvfJR0EiBNcJdiB_yq1TdYH7cr3ylRtCaGbh2JmRjQLPDZF6edueSgUslmKHo-EMECy94mQ1iFKA8AzezPzo2zJDfbNPqYu0CVx94kH8N1pn8aLexBj8Ro8PYrDx0mdkv9iRm0AqMefJ/s1600/cp+7.PNG" height="492" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And now it is swatchey time! I've included flash and natural light photos for some sparkle realness. Each swatch is just one small swipe, because like I said, the pigment is just out of control. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b>Tassel - </b>A very glittery white shade. You could put this anywhere for BAM sparkle. Highlight like mad. <br />
<br />
<b>Meow - </b>This one is my favorite. It's impossible to capture all the sparkle going down in here. It's a dark silver base and it reflects with pink and purple and maybe even blue glitter. When I put this on my eyes for the first time, I spent the next half hour looking at it. Ooh aah sparkle yes wow. You need this on your face like yesterday.<br />
<br />
<b>Ibiza - </b>Blue! Beautiful vibrant turquoise blue. Not as sparkly as the others, more pigment-based, but still glitters like a damn goddess. Gimme. <br />
<br />
<b>Dare - </b>Be still my heart. Sparkly vibrant purple. Need I say more? <br />
<br />
<b>Bae - </b>I'm pretty sure that this shade was the reason I broke down and bought some. It's a bruised purpley red, with a turquoise duochrome flash. It totally transforms in the light and it's so cool. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EeRWnujDs4Ghd9ZLKt4TymexfVCDZ_smL9G0HU-Tmfxhahj6lLuA4SU4k5ywzhlg1g1FRCfrIJjLkdFOdu3E6I6PEt60BxI2G7_17D8Mgih10HlAvt_6uO7_GFAqsVsc_3vFuCN6PdEX/s1600/cp+4.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EeRWnujDs4Ghd9ZLKt4TymexfVCDZ_smL9G0HU-Tmfxhahj6lLuA4SU4k5ywzhlg1g1FRCfrIJjLkdFOdu3E6I6PEt60BxI2G7_17D8Mgih10HlAvt_6uO7_GFAqsVsc_3vFuCN6PdEX/s1600/cp+4.PNG" height="400" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUJP0pwd-6xfqnsnZUW3_IdRIz6st0VIjsN31TiA-I3oa_GA-2i-1qC_k7CLPjTnkthjTX4qjJp8UDCN1BgAGgd8665DPQ2VGK09KtQF1dws3iFz2G2l31CknY83kpFMXiGq2_TSNE0p4q/s1600/cp+3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUJP0pwd-6xfqnsnZUW3_IdRIz6st0VIjsN31TiA-I3oa_GA-2i-1qC_k7CLPjTnkthjTX4qjJp8UDCN1BgAGgd8665DPQ2VGK09KtQF1dws3iFz2G2l31CknY83kpFMXiGq2_TSNE0p4q/s1600/cp+3.PNG" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Hustle </b>- Another reason I had to order. A burgundy matte with pigment like whoa. I can't stop loving warm eyeshadow looks and this is a great shade for that.<br />
<br />
<b>Effect -</b> A deep teal matte with insane pigment. Just a beautiful color. So dense and creamy. <br />
<br />
<b>Bill - </b>Talk about creamy. This one even feels creamier than the others. I figured I had to get one neutral color. Who doesn't love a good nude?<br />
<br />
<b>Cricket </b>- Sparkle time. Do you see this? A smokey plum-brown with just so much glitter. So beautiful. Take your usual everyday Naked palette look, and then add this on the lid? Unreal. <br />
<br />
<b>Sequin - </b>More glitter. More. This is a very metallic copper with all your sparkle needs.<br />
<br />

What do you guys think of these amazing shadows? Can you believe they are $5? Would you like to see more? Yes? Great, because I have a trick up my sleeve.<br />
Even though these are my only Super Shock shades as of now, my amazing pal Therese has a whole bunch more. And she is going to swatch them for us all! And I'll be posting them here. ColorPop has such an amazing range of colors and I'm pumped to be able to do a whole series of posts. We will even include some of their Lippie Stix somewhere along the line. Stoked!<br />
<br />
So for now, I leave you with this subtle ColourPop eye look I posted on my Instagram. See you guys again soon!<br />

Why you ask? I'm pretty sure I didn't buy anything in October. Legit.<br />
There may be one... So I'm calling this the October/November haul just in case. I have been such a good girl you guys. I haven't been to any supply stores since September! The only time I really shopped was on a weekend trip to Toronto with my parents. <br />
<br />
Also I can't get freakin' Instagram to embed the photos I want so I'm just uploading them. But don't forget to check me out on <a href="http://instagram.com/rebeccalikesnails">IG</a>, if you haven't already! I'm more active there these past few months, with lots of different kinds of stuff like makeup and crochet and nails and selfies, obvi, it's Instagram. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEptV83BLug9cJD3ZOIXi7piXnYDJTNpzC_LHCGBNuZ-EwWuqFcuUk_HTC_65gT0pBRBacf2d4gxbmLMrrds_kgq2lYp8FeIp291_fchNaVjAT17DwmLKIZqY2HvXf3KmKQzhaw71VOutO/s1600/928052_870475152976703_1521380332_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEptV83BLug9cJD3ZOIXi7piXnYDJTNpzC_LHCGBNuZ-EwWuqFcuUk_HTC_65gT0pBRBacf2d4gxbmLMrrds_kgq2lYp8FeIp291_fchNaVjAT17DwmLKIZqY2HvXf3KmKQzhaw71VOutO/s1600/928052_870475152976703_1521380332_n.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did damage at one particular Winners store in Toronto. I found all of this and was carrying it around in my arms, looking for a cart (or my mom) to help carry it all! Haha.<br />
The OPI GelColor I don't include in my haul because that's more for clients than for me. But it was an amazing deal, it would have cost me $120+ regular price but I got it for $50! The CG set was also a great deal, on clearance for $15. And the single polishes were $3-4 each (but now I need the pink OPI sheer tint to complete the set!)<br />
<b>OPI - I'm Never Amberrassed </b><br />
<b>OPI - Don't Violet Me Down </b><br />
<b>OPI - I Can Teal You Like Me</b><br />
<b>Orly - Green Flakie Topcoat</b><br />
<b>Sparitual - Giggle</b><br />
<b>China Glaze - Wait n' Sea</b><br />
<b>China Glaze - I Sea The Point</b> <br />
<b>China Glaze - X-Ta-Sea</b><br />
<b><b>China Glaze - Dune Our Thing</b></b><br />
<b><b><b>China Glaze - Float On</b></b></b><br />
<b><b><b><b>China Glaze - Feel The Breeze</b></b></b></b><br />
<br />

<br />
I had a little haul of mini Mundo de Unas stamping polishes! Looking forward to trying them out (if I ever get a minute to sit down and do my nails.) Colors are: <b>9 Red, 21 Purple,</b> <b>15 Mexican Pink, 6 Pastel Blue, 24 Aqua, 8 Green, 16 Lilac, 14 Violet, 25 Pastel Pink, 11 Yellow</b>.<br />
<br />
Oooother than that, I just picked up a few random Essence polishes from Shoppers at different times.<b><br />
</b><br />
<b>Essence - Aquatix Bay</b><br />
<b>Essence - Mermaid's Secret</b><br />
<b>Essence - Dark Night Starlight</b><br />
<br />
So that makes 14 polishes and 10 mini stamping ones. Not bad for two months hey? Maybe I should start including makeup in my hauls because my makeup hoarder status has totally increased! Haha. Or maybe I should keep that to myself...rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com35tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-81951435731739521002014-11-26T15:14:00.000-03:302014-11-26T15:14:49.699-03:30ice cream cone nails! + tutorialIf you follow me on Instagram, you might remember the ice cream nail tutorial I did! I slaved over it because I wanted so badly not only to grow my nails long enough to do it but also to compose a little IG video tutorial (my first ever!) and holy cannoli, video tutorials are not easy! <br />
I managed to get it done and I was super proud of it! But somehow neglected to make a post here about it. Yeah, I'm the worst. (Let's not talk about how this is my first post in November, okay? It's been a busy month. I was gonna talk about it but I'll save ya!)<br />
<br />
Anyway! Here's the tutorial again and some more words about my ice cream nails.<br />

Press play!<br />
I started with a base of <b>Essie - Topless and Barefoot</b> for the nice cone color. I did the waffled details using <b>Essie - Mink Muffs </b>and a striper brush.<br />
The ice cream colors are all from Lime Crime:<br />
<b>Lime Crime - Pastelchio</b><br />
<b>Lime Crime - Milky Ways</b><br />
<b>Lime Crime - Parfait Day</b><br />
<b>Lime Crime - Lavendairy</b><br />
Adding the dots of the color along the line between the ice cream and the cone really helps with the cutesy ice creamy feel by making definition in the scoops.<br />
<br />
I added a red pearl rhinestone as the cherry on top, but be careful because those can smear if you drag the topcoat over them. So make sure to do that carefully.<br />
I added little sprinkles with tiny caviar beads, which again can bleed their color, so swipe quickly with the topcoat!<br />

I can't believe I actually grew my nails that long just because I wanted ice cream nails so badly! <br />
Sadly I didn't get many nice photos of them on my camera, just on my phone. So there's no pic spam for you, but you get the point!<br />

What do you guys think? They may be a bit too summery for right now, but lemme know if you try it out!rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com29tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-64540017534220630692014-10-27T23:12:00.001-02:302014-10-27T23:12:36.824-02:30The Lacquer Legion: After Dark<i>Go shawty, it's LL day... </i><br />

Whomp whomppp.<br />
<br />
The theme for today's Lacquer Legion prompt is After Dark! Anything spooky scary goes. And I was seriously tempted to try Werewolf Bar Mitzvah... But it's a little late in the evening to paint a werewolf in a yarmulke. <i>Boys becoming men, men becoming wolves...<b> </b></i>If you haven't watched 30 Rock you can just show yourself out of that joke. <br />
<br />
Pretty much every Halloween nail art idea ever has already been done, so I went for something a little more abstract versus like, a pumpkin or a skull.<br />
My pal Tiffany from <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/">Nail Polish Canada</a> sent me over a Halloween plate to play with so I used that to create something cute!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO97imxjFatR6GEF-DKK6GPKwJrGBemkqbq4i6q6xRpyO3DTjalQgfLvfsAdsnsoSYz5zVJbcbYeE1fi-RVot2T8rAZYkg9vKcvUQO8uxaj9l-xjyxfcSuy4nmwOYf9jwVPLIaVc56NVdc/s1600/ll3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO97imxjFatR6GEF-DKK6GPKwJrGBemkqbq4i6q6xRpyO3DTjalQgfLvfsAdsnsoSYz5zVJbcbYeE1fi-RVot2T8rAZYkg9vKcvUQO8uxaj9l-xjyxfcSuy4nmwOYf9jwVPLIaVc56NVdc/s1600/ll3.PNG" height="434" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's like halloweeny newspaper blood splatter patterned goodness! I gotta say I really like how they look. It almost looks like a nail strip type design. The words everywhere look cool, even though my tiny nails don't allow for many entire words on there, and I love the blood peeking through!<br />
<br />
I started with a base of one of my go-to whites, <b>Color Club - French Tip</b>.<br />
I used red acrylic paint and a small brush for the splatters, I kinda just blobbed and smeared it on there. Very simple, no need to be precise. <br />
The stamp is from Bundle Monster's holiday collection - plate <b>BM-H07</b>,<b> </b>and I used Konad black polish to stamp it. <br />
<br />
I ended up not using any topcoat on these because I like the mixture of the finishes with the polish, paint, and stamping. <br />

I realized recently that I never got around to posting swatches of the last few sets of Shimmer Polish that I have, because like I have said, I am the worst.<br />
But never fear, they are coming. Just as soon as my badly broken nail grows out a little. In the meantime, I had three done already for your viewing pleasure today!<br />
<br />

<br />
Here's what I love about Shimmer that I say in every review post:<br />
- They're absolutely packed with glitter.<br />
- But that does not make them gloopy or hard to apply.<br />
- You can wear them alone layered over other colors. <br />
- So many glitters. Complex formulas. Not your typical glitters.<br />
- Great bottles and brushes and damn, what a cute label!<br />
- HAVE I MENTIONED ALL THE GLITTER?<br />
<br />
And I am generally very weary of indie polishes for quality reasons, but I stand behind these because even now, over 2 years after I got them, they are still perfect.<br />
<br />
Let's get to the swatches!<br />

Omgomg look at that teeeeeal. So pretty right? And the little mix of red glitter in there really makes it different and gives it depth. I believe I did 2 coats of this one to get as much glittery goodness on there as I could. I love all the tiny lil' squares. I could stare at it for hours.<br />

<b>Shimmer Polish - Jacki</b><br />
This is one of the ones that doesn't need any undies. We've got a blackened jelly base packed with all sorts of glitter! It's almost difficult to tell what is in there because there's just so much. It's one of the more demure shades from Shimmer, if you can call a glitter demure. (You can in my world.)<b> </b><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

Today I'm gonna be posting a polish I meant to post about a long time ago but you know me, I get distracted. <br />
<br />
Actually I have a funny story about this polish. You may know that when I go on vacation somewhere, I am pretty uncontrollable with my spending when it comes to stuff I can't get locally, such as Deborah Lippmann polishes.<br />
Last year, I went to St. Louis, and I bought two DL's at Nordstrom.<br />
Last year, I also went to Chicago, and I bought two DL's at Sephora.<br />
<br />
Only problem is... I bought this one both times. I had no recollection of buying it before, I'm usually really good at knowing what I have and don't have. But at some point I noticed that it was there twice on my polish stash spreadsheet which got me thinking, OMG I totally did buy that twice. A major DOH moment. So I went to check my Lippmann's on my nice little shelf, and there is only one bottle of it there. So I said no, maybe it was an accident that I put it there twice on the list. So I check out my haul posts for the months I had both of those trips, and SURE ENOUGH, I have it in both of them. So I bought it twice. I definitely did. But I still cant find the second bottle?! Did I notice the mistake once before and give it as a gift or something and totally just let it all slip from my mind? I DUNNO.<br />
<br />
Anyway. Here's <b>Just Dance</b> from <b>Deborah Lippmann</b>.<br />
A polish so nice you might buy it twice.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2g0NmlABpUsGCd44cYrXlGx2BvBMN0lG3mqRm-xfVIACtblNPDESvyFXfhANjTyVopbss3B-Y9lB37gVe9B_w-2d7JZ7mlCNzUB8EJuxouCHQJ6pL7OigzNhvgw46KUU6_qObbzABhQB/s1600/justdance2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2g0NmlABpUsGCd44cYrXlGx2BvBMN0lG3mqRm-xfVIACtblNPDESvyFXfhANjTyVopbss3B-Y9lB37gVe9B_w-2d7JZ7mlCNzUB8EJuxouCHQJ6pL7OigzNhvgw46KUU6_qObbzABhQB/s1600/justdance2.PNG" height="502" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I can't remember now if this is two or three coats, but I do know that there is no base color, just lovely full coverage glitter. Blue glitters are one of my favorite polishes to wear, and this one applies sooooo great.<br />
I'm actually thinking of going and putting it on again right after I finish this post. <br />
<br />

The moral of this story is that we all need to settle down and not wind up buying two of the same pricey polish. Unless you mean to. Like maybe you like it sooooo much you need two. Because you never know when you might run out. Just in case. Right? RIGHT? rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03304125151673438381noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1749688618811808844.post-67182404077056785832014-10-12T00:42:00.003-02:302014-10-12T00:42:42.712-02:30september haul 2014This post is quite delayed thanks to my post-31DC2014 burnout. Oh boy, it's been nice not to be slaving away at nails every day! And it's so great to do a manicure you love and not have to take it off soon after.<br />
<br />
I ended up being kiiiiinda bad this month though, buying-wise. Winners killed me. Tooootally. In one night I had my biggest polish haul in a long time.<br />

First up was this Deborah Lippmann set called Starlight. It was one of those things that you don't even have to think about, it just goes into your cart. And actually, my dad bought it for me as a late birthday gift because he said he understood that Lippmanns are "important." He's well trained. <br />

<b>Deborah Lippmann - </b><b>Blinded by the Light</b><br />
<b>Deborah Lippmann - Champagne Supernova</b><br />

<b>Deborah Lippmann - Fantastic Voyage</b><br />

And then there were Color Club sets. At first I only got these two but had to go back for the third one a few days later because basically I'm nuts. So that's 21 more polishes. I won't list all of the names, but the sets are:<br />

I got a polish in my Ipsy bag, but I'm not really fond of it: <br />
<b>Pacifica - Red Red Wine</b><br />
<br />
And besides that, I bought two Zoya's on clearance for $2 and one Essence at the drugstore.<br />
<b>Zoya - Sailor </b><br />
<b>Zoya - Maria Lusia </b><br />
<b>Essence - Dark Night Starlight</b><br />
<br />
Yikes!! That's 31 bottles for the month. Well, 28 if you don't count the clear CC ones in the sets. (I won't if you won't.)<br />
To curb my badness I also gave away 11 bottles to a friend. OMG, I am always so happy when today rolls around. I get super excited to do a nice manicure and leave it on for an entire week. Actually, I think I'll leave <i>this</i> manicure on for an entire week. <br />The final theme is one of my favorites - <b>Honor Nails You Love</b>!<br />
<br />
Usually by the end of the challenge, my fellow challenge participant and bestie Sarah of Chalkboard Nails will do something so amazing I feel the need to instantly put it on my nails. Cue her <a href="http://www.chalkboardnails.com/2014/09/blue-dripping-chevron-nail-art.html">dripping chevron manicure</a>. I didn't get to do it instantly, but I did get to do it today! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Tada! UGH I'm so in love with these. Totally patting myself on the back for the effort I put into these to finish the challenge strong. Also do you like my strategically placed ring to cover my worsening booboo? <br />

<br />
I switched up the colors from Sarah's original look to make it more me. Basically I can't stop using these colors so therefore can't stop won't stop the sunsational manis.<br />
Here's what I used: <br /><b>Color Club - Wicker Park </b>(the lightest pink, used as a base and left peeking out for some stripes)<br />
<b>Color Club - Peppermint Fusion </b>(brighter pink) <br />
<b>China Glaze - Too Yacht To Handle</b> (blue)<br />
<b>China Glaze - That's Shore Bright</b> (purple)<br />
<b>OPI - Golden Waves</b> (This color is one of the weird mystery OPI shades that have been popping up at Winners or TJ Maxx, etc, that are legit OPI but not from any OPI collection, thus they are mostly renamed exclusives from other stores or rebottled Nicole shades, yadda yadda. This one is lovely.)<br />
I did a coat of Seche Vite first and then added a coat of Butter London's matte topcoat which I found today of course after using a failure of a matte topcoat yesterday. Sarah adores matte everything and I think I might be a convert now also.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvWX_6IDdXSlrS2euN-RKDW2jst3x27w_4kSeaR8IiRVz9kwEpTrzlEKrVXx14ZiIsOxR7BHrX3E2yRhFsiRfrmxs6sTm7WbXbqL3iyNoeLfxLMFSp1tzRY4dxEraXGNzgQY91IWbj7Sgr/s1600/chevron4.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvWX_6IDdXSlrS2euN-RKDW2jst3x27w_4kSeaR8IiRVz9kwEpTrzlEKrVXx14ZiIsOxR7BHrX3E2yRhFsiRfrmxs6sTm7WbXbqL3iyNoeLfxLMFSp1tzRY4dxEraXGNzgQY91IWbj7Sgr/s1600/chevron4.PNG" height="544" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
UNF I love these soooooo much. Maybe I'll just never take them off. (If that were possible.)<br />
<br />
Thank you so much to those of you who have been following me along this journey once again! And congrats to those of you who've completed it as well.<br />
Stay tuned tomorrow for the round up post where me and blogger will have our annual fight about photo alignment and then call it a day on the challenge for another year.<br />
<br />
Now take a walk down memory lane and check out my previous day 31 designs:<br />

I spent the whole day doing two assignments for school and then I worked for eight hours unpacking beautiful new Toms and had just enough time left to do my nails. Phew! Assignments done, nails done, post almost done. Here we go!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6um7zKq1qgbylx9smSb3hf0dcBYRW3emMEyTECKNe21sc5DitTqFHNQcinZZIT1ciq791E6tJ6Sz0ILCI_dsrRIzbqCZBLMRb4rBAyCbQC4sL5pUjpu40CApWUFnyvrXxHT0XWiaeejuY/s1600/tut.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6um7zKq1qgbylx9smSb3hf0dcBYRW3emMEyTECKNe21sc5DitTqFHNQcinZZIT1ciq791E6tJ6Sz0ILCI_dsrRIzbqCZBLMRb4rBAyCbQC4sL5pUjpu40CApWUFnyvrXxHT0XWiaeejuY/s1600/tut.PNG" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I chose <a href="http://instagram.com/p/tbde04i5Sb/?modal=true">these nails</a> by Bad Girl Nails on IG to recreate. I saw her tutorial for the chains the other day and I thought they were stamping at first, but they're actually freehand so I wanted to try them out myself too!<br />
<br />
The only crappy part about my recreation is that my matte topcoat has ~apparently~ become too good for me and refuses to dry fully matte. UGH. I swear I had like three different ones at one point but I must have given some away. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH-ycwUJpf_DM_Lcn11jn234-iQ4UqV2ubdq2z7iPV7HUaTQS6T_QNKaEA78JN09LEtBOaTs28lHPvkfOC84dEZE6Yqz0cVa_UW1oUaRB7tD9QqIWVtObxuxV95JSaCo_Lo6JqsKeiVMnL/s1600/tut2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH-ycwUJpf_DM_Lcn11jn234-iQ4UqV2ubdq2z7iPV7HUaTQS6T_QNKaEA78JN09LEtBOaTs28lHPvkfOC84dEZE6Yqz0cVa_UW1oUaRB7tD9QqIWVtObxuxV95JSaCo_Lo6JqsKeiVMnL/s1600/tut2.PNG" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Excuse my fresh Toms shoebox wound there on my knuckle... Is there anything worse than a cardboard paper cut?!<br />
Here are the polishes I used:<br />
<b>OPI - Black Onyx</b><br />
<b>OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls </b>(I should have used a more nudey shade but I couldn't think of one light enough for what I wanted so I grabbed this go-to shade.)<b> </b> <br />
<b>Urban Decay - Mrs. Mia Wallace</b><br />
<b>China Glaze - Mingle With Kringle</b><br />
<br />
If nothing else, I am super pumped that I did these nails because I had totally forgotten about the CG polish and now I am excited to use it in more nail art! <br />
<br />
Now take a walk down memory lane and check out my previous day 30 designs:<br />

I've done SPN nails 2/3 years so far in the challenge and today will make it 3/4, and these are definitely the best so far.<br />
<br />
The new season starts next week and I am already giddy with anticipation. I decided to go for a design that is definitely appropriate for what's to come in the next season.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglyI3QnZrNO_WYw5UObZ5Slhk-SfzE43BXZQHW1bbhpLnPMzKu2BV8o3eBPl0el3jtFzrPFIDewZn1aZwpDqOHiup5uu2cu4fRuM6arYeGAC89CYvBz-JnfUwbfozyEYe9U2H6tkFD02w0/s1600/spn2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglyI3QnZrNO_WYw5UObZ5Slhk-SfzE43BXZQHW1bbhpLnPMzKu2BV8o3eBPl0el3jtFzrPFIDewZn1aZwpDqOHiup5uu2cu4fRuM6arYeGAC89CYvBz-JnfUwbfozyEYe9U2H6tkFD02w0/s1600/spn2.PNG" height="474" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<i>Dean Winchester, a man marked by both heaven and hell. </i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglltIgXwVyoOouodbxUjoSdC1MDciax11jMpkBEnmKUr3HwM5Cnyp7or4BcE3TAkYX7_oCi7ITo2pQEwg2KarxQPhasy915H0oQwQ10YzP0uGQkri29QnZrpkomDRYpr0w06rvzbPb2HLc/s1600/spn3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglltIgXwVyoOouodbxUjoSdC1MDciax11jMpkBEnmKUr3HwM5Cnyp7or4BcE3TAkYX7_oCi7ITo2pQEwg2KarxQPhasy915H0oQwQ10YzP0uGQkri29QnZrpkomDRYpr0w06rvzbPb2HLc/s1600/spn3.PNG" height="539" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
If you're not a Supernatural fan, you may not recognize the symbols. The hand print is the mark left by Castiel on Dean's chest, and the other symbol is the Mark of Cain. I wanted to make it look like they were drawn in blood, and I think I did a really good job! I'm especially impressed with the hand.<br />
I accented the symbols with some blood smears, you know, for effect. Ha!<br />
I decided not to add topcoat because I liked the texture of the brush strokes and splatters. <br />
<br />
The nude base is (surprise) <b>OPI - Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?</b><br />
The blood red is <b>Color Club - Killer Curves</b>. <b> </b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO_Ks0EpgmMDi1flxCl_6H99AcDmJBX21eM33jsbo0GAUuhBnf0TXt-39dRQRoujF1e5m_06VCeKvszaPJiZLYu4nC0ENJ2XVdEMggg531nK8hMCypEQ4qFNc9UK0h9Z74hUfclo0ZZD4Q/s1600/spn1.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO_Ks0EpgmMDi1flxCl_6H99AcDmJBX21eM33jsbo0GAUuhBnf0TXt-39dRQRoujF1e5m_06VCeKvszaPJiZLYu4nC0ENJ2XVdEMggg531nK8hMCypEQ4qFNc9UK0h9Z74hUfclo0ZZD4Q/s1600/spn1.PNG" height="452" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
OMG I'm totally geeking out over these. Please tell me you are too!!!<br />
<br />
Now take a walk down memory lane and check out my previous day 29 designs:<br />

Haha! I have a lot of homework this week so I haven't really had much time for nails. Just three more to go now though!!<br />
<br />
Today's theme is <b>Inspired by a Flag</b> which is kinda dumb but here we are. I have seen this cute design going around and I decided to do it myself! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieRLJKL64yyUr-5MnPyEzL_gBnGcshPSq-yfztF4i6VLL5U0nExoEjF_MOyNFwwoJbZ61OFX9gG-u1jb0eQhEctHOobcH6-diAFKb8uR6wJBLbMlXn3DjYbOKsfParuqdIPn0DP-QYAGPw/s1600/flag2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieRLJKL64yyUr-5MnPyEzL_gBnGcshPSq-yfztF4i6VLL5U0nExoEjF_MOyNFwwoJbZ61OFX9gG-u1jb0eQhEctHOobcH6-diAFKb8uR6wJBLbMlXn3DjYbOKsfParuqdIPn0DP-QYAGPw/s1600/flag2.PNG" height="476" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Bunting flags. The cutest flags!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2JnmtccMPCXxL3IthDObdlgv8jIiCPzPsH2bIXr3wPnmwigms44jtbl6f_ZuP_gTSzJuYwk_gFsCrh87UZwgv931QELsACAeMcqbjmMlO7sKVLxDxhhPKboSXiQZhmSo0HX8a6TMHlG7M/s1600/flag.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2JnmtccMPCXxL3IthDObdlgv8jIiCPzPsH2bIXr3wPnmwigms44jtbl6f_ZuP_gTSzJuYwk_gFsCrh87UZwgv931QELsACAeMcqbjmMlO7sKVLxDxhhPKboSXiQZhmSo0HX8a6TMHlG7M/s1600/flag.PNG" height="446" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This manicure started with a base of <b>OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls</b>, a lovely off-white.<br />
I used three Color Club pastels from the Paris In Love collection for the flags:<br />
<b>Color Club - La Petite Mint-sieur</b> (mint)<br />
<b>Color Club - Je T'aime </b>(pink)<br />
<b>Color Club - Holy Chic! </b>(purple)<br />
I did the outlines with black acrylic paint. <br />
<br />
Let me take this time to say that the name of the mint one is messed up because if we're talking about a <i>monsieur </i>as the mint-pun suggests, that would be a masculine French word, meaning it would be "<i>le petit</i>" and not the feminine version "<i>la petite</i>." That's your French lesson for today, friends. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivoZwyBGecNlu6GFKqoIcB6_bmXC-5pGOkZoLmTXh2u5htOnH5X2WpHHWdOt6nQtOLr3jXe3yrOWxXNK2GK8G9LXU9J2psM-ymT126eTVgHET_eLZwIe3RU5ei5EJDxMPx6HDWvM45EIR_/s1600/flag3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivoZwyBGecNlu6GFKqoIcB6_bmXC-5pGOkZoLmTXh2u5htOnH5X2WpHHWdOt6nQtOLr3jXe3yrOWxXNK2GK8G9LXU9J2psM-ymT126eTVgHET_eLZwIe3RU5ei5EJDxMPx6HDWvM45EIR_/s1600/flag3.PNG" height="536" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I think these turned out super cute! Even despite the rushing. How about you?<br />
<br />
Now take a walk down memory lane and check out my previous day 28 designs:<br />

The theme for today is <b>Inspired by Art</b>. I've done Warhol-inspired nails twice before for this challenge prompt and today I decided to make it three times. (Actually I think this is four times technically now including the bananas I did for a yellow theme day.)<br />
I chose one of my favorite Warhol prints to emulate and I am super pumped with how it turned out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX3aGatYeeR5XDizEaU7VtIbnVPEOSYp8nbQDAcJJFEjiP3CZfUWFEYAocMpf4MkPn6oxZi8HFg0ch0EOm6yuQT4brXsIr56NEFhAQubGYJpxuv9cXCkWmoxieOTZSs3SSvMVA154uhAYt/s1600/art2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX3aGatYeeR5XDizEaU7VtIbnVPEOSYp8nbQDAcJJFEjiP3CZfUWFEYAocMpf4MkPn6oxZi8HFg0ch0EOm6yuQT4brXsIr56NEFhAQubGYJpxuv9cXCkWmoxieOTZSs3SSvMVA154uhAYt/s1600/art2.PNG" height="472" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU5FDXJRNON7uAGaNWEkT73xRWB-5_xkTB_Y3WJ0YbEoTtYh914_7RiMevfqn-yWw9E2wwr6VQfCT_XorZb1GC4UKQNlYlnTRUOsKRoL0RGgsPm19TXp3g8KL4_QEpMXxsjQFF8sTXfQeJ/s1600/andy_warhol_dollar_sign_d5584308h.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU5FDXJRNON7uAGaNWEkT73xRWB-5_xkTB_Y3WJ0YbEoTtYh914_7RiMevfqn-yWw9E2wwr6VQfCT_XorZb1GC4UKQNlYlnTRUOsKRoL0RGgsPm19TXp3g8KL4_QEpMXxsjQFF8sTXfQeJ/s1600/andy_warhol_dollar_sign_d5584308h.jpg" /></a><br />
Warhol's iconic dollar sign prints are very recognizable, and the fun colors always stand out to me. I chose this version's color palette to work with because it's basically all of my favorite colors.<br />
<br />
I would love to have this exact painting hanging on my wall, but the original print was sold at auction for over $339,000. That's definitely above my pay grade. So I did it on my nails! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIoOr6IL75XL22fMOWfs3EViKkNe2V0pUP60O2AzGm9zdrfPKlP9jvQscRnI7PSNbvEPqYh2fujwLo-U8EvP5o17xR94kpeo1AIZrOH4KWLyhcxegznEsI2AOMES1byAOJACPG6M8yUNiY/s1600/art4.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIoOr6IL75XL22fMOWfs3EViKkNe2V0pUP60O2AzGm9zdrfPKlP9jvQscRnI7PSNbvEPqYh2fujwLo-U8EvP5o17xR94kpeo1AIZrOH4KWLyhcxegznEsI2AOMES1byAOJACPG6M8yUNiY/s1600/art4.PNG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I started with a base of <b>OPI - Steady As She Rose</b>.<br />
I did the dollar sign using a small brush and the following polishes:<br /><b>Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - S-teal A Base </b>(teal)<br /><b>OPI - Vant To Bite My Neck? </b>(purple)<br /><b>China Glaze - Dance Baby</b> (pink)<br />
The rest of my nails I just covered with some abstract dry-brushing and the same three colors.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTf6EhxrWtORb-x9BT_8Vdm5prsMNNP66HHi1h0UNOZoVOc2BDcfYC22eheVHyHSDhaCCnkW9iZ1rnw0hBXpFwd43_hgylksFf_kGUoPi-SQTq4NVciGy9oNumDV4cpe6g2OFWu_-GLe9e/s1600/art3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTf6EhxrWtORb-x9BT_8Vdm5prsMNNP66HHi1h0UNOZoVOc2BDcfYC22eheVHyHSDhaCCnkW9iZ1rnw0hBXpFwd43_hgylksFf_kGUoPi-SQTq4NVciGy9oNumDV4cpe6g2OFWu_-GLe9e/s1600/art3.PNG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>

Today's theme is <b>Inspired by a Pattern</b>. I had an amazing idea for these nails however the nail strips I needed to use were crap stickers and they did not stay on my nails and I was very mad because it would have been great. I'm going to have to bank that idea for later and do it a different way.<br />
<br />
So I had to last-minute change my idea. I was sitting at my nail table and decided to do the pattern from my polish drawers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX2xfTfz3DoNC-ijX75R3TSWtI2dfhtOcbima8Uw8keCYDgXyFiRUjLSGnqJK47fnI-Top9Y_4R2vPXPmlenBPq51gzKaTG-OiWupt5MpdFTU85MuWgaJtxpA-PJ-gdWZIkVuxd3W1P6nm/s1600/pattern1.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX2xfTfz3DoNC-ijX75R3TSWtI2dfhtOcbima8Uw8keCYDgXyFiRUjLSGnqJK47fnI-Top9Y_4R2vPXPmlenBPq51gzKaTG-OiWupt5MpdFTU85MuWgaJtxpA-PJ-gdWZIkVuxd3W1P6nm/s1600/pattern1.PNG" height="516" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
You may remember that back in the day I did a <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2011/06/my-diy-decorated-melmer-written.html">tutorial</a> on how to Mod Podge scrapbook paper onto your Melmer drawers to dress them up. A lot of people did theirs too! After a year or so I decided to redo mine after finding this amazingly cute wrapping paper. Much less obnoxious than my last choices. Haha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2AzBEkkTJdQ3aKMDl3HLkhDd_nqYdhmFdYEZxZ0cpe1SZ3vb8EHrcPCOpZodk-hF0tgYjmYnzmK-Ai9-yx8HqVVhzZ8bFm4ePkdG_QoktzoyC32WBoqCyZEbS-EjionrkS6v-ecWlfQHT/s1600/pattern3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2AzBEkkTJdQ3aKMDl3HLkhDd_nqYdhmFdYEZxZ0cpe1SZ3vb8EHrcPCOpZodk-hF0tgYjmYnzmK-Ai9-yx8HqVVhzZ8bFm4ePkdG_QoktzoyC32WBoqCyZEbS-EjionrkS6v-ecWlfQHT/s1600/pattern3.PNG" height="486" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now that I am looking at this I feel like I did it before! But I can't remember and I don't want to look. LOL. <br />
<br />
I started with a white base and did the leopard with <b>China Glaze - Exotic Encounters</b> and <b>OPI - Mermaids Tears</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbhG2akLxIU9YUOlvksre-Ca_EFTydtvL1wAwOCoWx7Dn_wKqqYWHQ0M29gxICVTg0JGgR7oVGzwTREm1heDvYFWbhPmbEzWVRA1TA0ATCp8p0spB86ZB4GvJjbKvwTNQ_QK5Kd6BQ6URC/s1600/pattern2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbhG2akLxIU9YUOlvksre-Ca_EFTydtvL1wAwOCoWx7Dn_wKqqYWHQ0M29gxICVTg0JGgR7oVGzwTREm1heDvYFWbhPmbEzWVRA1TA0ATCp8p0spB86ZB4GvJjbKvwTNQ_QK5Kd6BQ6URC/s1600/pattern2.PNG" height="496" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
What do you guys think? It's leopard, of course you do. <br />
<br />

I actually did these like 2 weeks ago when inspiration hit me immediately after seeing some hella cute shoes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha7-N43HgBopYZE22BJ5pbJvH_blLR2wNLTb2ywq2riuktC277McSN_0_WgKAQr-0r-ydYU7nQ5MCUhSEestu45Ati5Snj6vwbSy1zsYZFJKMEtgxVHJO_HbqVtqdSNq2FH9Fd2AFwd-oO/s1600/kate-spade-lisa-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha7-N43HgBopYZE22BJ5pbJvH_blLR2wNLTb2ywq2riuktC277McSN_0_WgKAQr-0r-ydYU7nQ5MCUhSEestu45Ati5Snj6vwbSy1zsYZFJKMEtgxVHJO_HbqVtqdSNq2FH9Fd2AFwd-oO/s1600/kate-spade-lisa-2.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm not usually into Kate Spade but holy crap those are cute! So I did nails to match. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiivtlGHxojrkLYMJRarLjsNvVtSasMgGVrA7XvV7tK6w7a_6rrk_69D68wITTQ__UPCnw7R2xXmgfl1Mc-7uHBwpIra-7R1dj8EYKNqj-Pz3aHy6iockt9Vg_NHIb7e73DerJFe_14hJ-_/s1600/fashion3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiivtlGHxojrkLYMJRarLjsNvVtSasMgGVrA7XvV7tK6w7a_6rrk_69D68wITTQ__UPCnw7R2xXmgfl1Mc-7uHBwpIra-7R1dj8EYKNqj-Pz3aHy6iockt9Vg_NHIb7e73DerJFe_14hJ-_/s1600/fashion3.PNG" height="464" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Tada! I used <b>Sephora by OPI - It's My Pink</b> and I painted the tip on freehand and used a dotting tool to do the dots. I didn't even wear basecoat. Look how nice and non-stained my nails are! I mean, <i>were<b>. </b></i>I stained them this week but can't remember what polish did it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhQPd3peUYC01Bhgc3ONtJYlpL9bAj7SQF0xQSk-uHWHKaG1kNIecSKfrl-7ucmEu_VUN7CzNgSwAYc6gnx7Qf4PZH89aKiQ0Dd0nRPutqkDdfF-BCsG_uUBFeDA242Wy5sLOgHPxWn8b8/s1600/fashion.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhQPd3peUYC01Bhgc3ONtJYlpL9bAj7SQF0xQSk-uHWHKaG1kNIecSKfrl-7ucmEu_VUN7CzNgSwAYc6gnx7Qf4PZH89aKiQ0Dd0nRPutqkDdfF-BCsG_uUBFeDA242Wy5sLOgHPxWn8b8/s1600/fashion.PNG" height="476" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
How do you guys like this take on a classic french? I think it's pretty fun!<br />
<br />

Today we're doing the <b>Inspired by a Book</b> theme and as promised earlier in the month, I've done nails inspired by the new Ellen Hopkins book, <b>Rumble</b>!<br />
Plus, head to the end of the post to find out who won the <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2014/09/a-decade-of-ellen-rumble-book-release.html">Ellen Hopkins giveaway</a>! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoKSrHllGluDr3VT3D9Ok75VQs4R2y63hyzT_4N9S-9pbjrEmuIiY9jqf6FPtGAjoqpNpuhoKH_wBdh7x1wkhvx1gOe558AYyAUAjsJkMTlj2uVe0M9zGTrr_DCEOt-MbpeYnFZv1L5N9n/s1600/book.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoKSrHllGluDr3VT3D9Ok75VQs4R2y63hyzT_4N9S-9pbjrEmuIiY9jqf6FPtGAjoqpNpuhoKH_wBdh7x1wkhvx1gOe558AYyAUAjsJkMTlj2uVe0M9zGTrr_DCEOt-MbpeYnFZv1L5N9n/s1600/book.PNG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />Tada! Once again I am really pleased with the end result of my book nails.<br />
At first I wasn't sure if I was going to get the right effect but after I kept layering colors, it came out looking so close that they could almost blend right in!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyMdn4RLVwqK6NZtNNuxQSOrUYnbQZR9lkNpPd297eDWvHLs4TleyZptON-3KMoOgJjf2_03vINmYVlcUjPtGL_2E2Cg0bajQm1eVwD6c40QRu78hjGVzBr4gFLTf0CvgCMf7nWllcWVVf/s1600/book2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyMdn4RLVwqK6NZtNNuxQSOrUYnbQZR9lkNpPd297eDWvHLs4TleyZptON-3KMoOgJjf2_03vINmYVlcUjPtGL_2E2Cg0bajQm1eVwD6c40QRu78hjGVzBr4gFLTf0CvgCMf7nWllcWVVf/s1600/book2.PNG" height="474" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I started with a base of <b>China Glaze - Bahamian Blues</b>.<br />
I used various sponges and stuff to make different textures using dark blue (<b>Zoya - Sailor</b>) medium blue (<b>China Glaze - Splish Splash</b>) and white (<b>Color Club - French Tip</b>.) <br />
I used a black striper to create some jagged lines to mimic the cover even more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF-QtB5C-PYhfvO6djB0i2IcTwzkL7CDqo0VFeeDIk6QU30BlYUHvXr-aqQKdVQoWA4lAysjKR0EU36-ZCZO0rebxOROqcUU_QkSnLb-NM-P69XS1Oc9moQ1VXLNCE0Kxx-1FN0GBZbSxh/s1600/book3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF-QtB5C-PYhfvO6djB0i2IcTwzkL7CDqo0VFeeDIk6QU30BlYUHvXr-aqQKdVQoWA4lAysjKR0EU36-ZCZO0rebxOROqcUU_QkSnLb-NM-P69XS1Oc9moQ1VXLNCE0Kxx-1FN0GBZbSxh/s1600/book3.PNG" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And now... Without further ado... The winner of the giveaway is <b>Mandy L</b>!<br />
I've contacted the winner and will redraw in the event of non-response. <br />
<br />
<br />

Happy Autumn... Even though it makes me sad because it means winter is on its way. I'm just not built for the cold. Remind me again why I don't live in Florida? <br />
<br />
The theme for today is <b>Inspired by a Movie</b>. A couple weeks ago I got the new Pulp Fiction nail polish from Urban Decay so I knew I'd have to use that and do Pulp Fiction nails!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtB6w2OvhrwQcwzw0k3ph8v4L0WmY5fBqYKejSqBdsuhvSmSdmlzGlcRoXMwEvWe2DTmwRzNNqwxfeFk_YQEvvG3ZsdzSMTaAUAaYCA3EZkK8byToXsAwfkiIz0cILRtruFYvZCNI6ksoN/s1600/mia.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtB6w2OvhrwQcwzw0k3ph8v4L0WmY5fBqYKejSqBdsuhvSmSdmlzGlcRoXMwEvWe2DTmwRzNNqwxfeFk_YQEvvG3ZsdzSMTaAUAaYCA3EZkK8byToXsAwfkiIz0cILRtruFYvZCNI6ksoN/s1600/mia.PNG" height="448" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I was inspired by Mrs. Mia Wallace and the smoke always billowing out of her lush lips! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcmTE4NNwtyRO2p5x9mrkpKvRzJTP7tUwG-sODpGieitvh70a-OSpSGwU9j2pDY52sV2XUo0jL7YKNVZ5AGDFWLU43SzPfGIlA11dgGVQVj348aeSaeTMJi2sGFdyV5_jJCn74vNy2uRyJ/s1600/mia2.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcmTE4NNwtyRO2p5x9mrkpKvRzJTP7tUwG-sODpGieitvh70a-OSpSGwU9j2pDY52sV2XUo0jL7YKNVZ5AGDFWLU43SzPfGIlA11dgGVQVj348aeSaeTMJi2sGFdyV5_jJCn74vNy2uRyJ/s1600/mia2.PNG" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I added a bandaid on the thumb for Mr. Wallace, which definitely brings the look together.<br />
<br />
Here's the polish on its own: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQyEfgffuuCBKAkkoSImAmi4l1hAxwq8jwzSjn4TIBluOiy0xkzNfPRPvVIuzVXd0-jRbB0hahQHKzdibgc3DBzGF_urjpQ7aaGhhTC9EV_q2btoERdtN_5aOaSz4U9G7onlkdUt2q4jgz/s1600/mia4.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQyEfgffuuCBKAkkoSImAmi4l1hAxwq8jwzSjn4TIBluOiy0xkzNfPRPvVIuzVXd0-jRbB0hahQHKzdibgc3DBzGF_urjpQ7aaGhhTC9EV_q2btoERdtN_5aOaSz4U9G7onlkdUt2q4jgz/s1600/mia4.PNG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Urban Decay - Mrs. Mia Wallace </b><br />
This is a beautiful red with tonal shimmer, and the formula is dreamy. It takes 2 thin coats for full coverage, and as always the UD formula is so easy to work with.<br />
<br />
I did the smoke with <b>Color Club - French Tip</b> using the watercolor technique. I have a (slightly old) tutorial for that technique <a href="http://www.rebeccalikesnails.com/2011/11/new-technique-watercolor-nails-tutorial.html">here</a>, and I was inspired by <a href="http://www.chalkboardnails.com/2013/09/31dc2013-day-07-black-and-white.html">these nails</a> by Chalkboard Nails to turn that technique into smoke!<br />
<br />
The bandaid was painted with <b>OPI - San-Tan Tonio </b>and <b>OPI - Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?</b><br />
<br />
The lip print stamp is from Bundle Monster plate <b>BM-303</b> and Konad Black special polish. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijp3FVDU2DFgf0BsYWNFjrC38uIpSA5z-YGBYW-OVQgc-3d5gZz6xCdaPMWhkSywFpVsApWk9xhVARYVyuhZcPQZNU6zzCwKJDqrBydteGJ85KQOdwvA6KKbWGfq8ezgA0-Zwqy-CXwL-J/s1600/mia3.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijp3FVDU2DFgf0BsYWNFjrC38uIpSA5z-YGBYW-OVQgc-3d5gZz6xCdaPMWhkSywFpVsApWk9xhVARYVyuhZcPQZNU6zzCwKJDqrBydteGJ85KQOdwvA6KKbWGfq8ezgA0-Zwqy-CXwL-J/s1600/mia3.PNG" height="497" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Still in love with the Urban Decay bottles. I've got all of these new polishes now... Haha. Oh and good news for Canadians, the Shoppers Drugmart locations that carry UD stocked this collection, including the polish! They never had any of the polishes before so I was really surprised to see it there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4y1I4yM3Pl2A5ifkGjoUTQsg6LohGg1LFKMx89YyvFrqxN6mJvICXQsSoCuqaaDu27LxAIEuBWR1MkBCThBoaZ82SF5koAMIXsEVByiY0lPIgrayiZw5nijQoBLvR4ttv4f8r7XegXtl9/s1600/mia6.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4y1I4yM3Pl2A5ifkGjoUTQsg6LohGg1LFKMx89YyvFrqxN6mJvICXQsSoCuqaaDu27LxAIEuBWR1MkBCThBoaZ82SF5koAMIXsEVByiY0lPIgrayiZw5nijQoBLvR4ttv4f8r7XegXtl9/s1600/mia6.PNG" height="438" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
What do you guys think of these nails? Can you see the Mrs. Mia Wallace inspiration in them? I'm really pleased with how they turned out! <br />
