december haul 2013

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
Have you guys been making any resolutions for 2014? I know I have one big one that is always on my mind... My blog! 2013 was a bad year for me and my blog, because for a while I was just too sick to give it any attention, and then the habit just... stuck. I always promise my readers and myself that I will be back, but this time I really want to mean it.
I plan to start posting as much as I can, with the best stuff that I can. At least twice a week to start out but hopefully more!
I really love blogging and all that it has done for me and I'm sure not ready to quit. My three year blogaversary is coming up in 2 weeks - let's get this party started again!

So we will begin 2014 with a post about how much polish I hauled in December. And it wasn't very much because I have been showing such restraint! No more 80-polish-a-month hauls for me, folks.

With some help from a blog sale, I added four polishes to my Canadian Collection by OPI, so now I have half of the collection. I must finish it!! (Plus I got one other polish for good measure.)
OPI - Don't Wine, Yukon Do It!
OPI - Nice Color Eh?
OPI - Van-couvered In Snow

OPI - Canadian Maple Leaf
OPI - Grape, Set, Match

I found a lot of Essence goodies in December at my local Shoppers Drugmart. There were two new displays and I came across both when they were full! One was a Justin Bieber collection which was not something that interested me much but I really wanted the paperprint manicure set! And a purple polish came home that day also... The rest are from the Metal Glam collection, which seem like great stamping polishes! Plus a "gold" leaf topcoat so I can stop rationing my real gold one! Ha!
Essence - paperprint manicure solution + transfer papers
Essence - Baby, Baby, Ooh! (...lol)
Essence - Steel-ing the Scene (gold topper)
Essence - Steel-ing the Scene (I have no idea why two have the same name)
Essence - Petal to the Metal
Essence - Gold Digger

I bought myself some more pricey goodies as a Christmas present... Ha! (Also check out that backdrop in my photo... It's a bandeau from Victoria's Secret. I had an awesome haul there during their semi-annual clearance... But that doesn't get counted here!)
Urban Decay - Zodiac
Formula X for Sephora - Hyped

A polish came in my December Ipsy Glam Bag but I don't think I'll keep it. It's just like some old stand bys such as OPI's You Don't Know Jacques.
Nicka K - Classic Taupe

That's fourteen if you include the paperprint solution. Not bad! And most of them were cheapie cheapie!
Next month is already looking a little worse considering this is only the 3rd and I bought 14 already... Ha! I'll slow down.

Here's to 2014, everyone!

OPI - Kiss Me At Midnight

Hello everyone and Happy New Year's Eve! I decided to hop on here today and post a very appropriate polish for tonight's festivities. Been slacking off again of course - but I've already got big plans for the new year so never fear, I'm not giving up on ya!

Before I jump into today's post I wanted to let you know that I am guest posting today over at work / play / polish. The lovely Leslie has been working so hard to make a big blogger collaboration in support of the Polished Girlz organization, and you should definitely check it out. Check out my contribution here.

And now, polish time!

OPI - Kiss Me At Midnight is a beautiful sparkly blue Liquid Sand shade from this holiday's Mariah Carey Collection. It covers in just two coats and it dries very quickly and solidly, unlike some other textured polishes I have tried. Despite being matte, these glittery offerings from OPI are not dull at all!

I have a personal motto which is "Buy ALL the Liquid Sands!"
I figured that they wouldn't make so many though... And I've missed a few. But I'll probably catch up!

I find that these wear extremely well also. I just wore another one for like a week without needing to change it and that's shocking, especially considering you don't wear topcoat!

Who will you be kissing at midnight? ;)

piCture pOlish Collab-Fest 2013

Hello everyone and happy Monday! (Even though it is only 1:00 am for me right now...)
Today is piCture pOlish Collab Fest! A day for all of us lucky ladies who had collaboration shades released this year to post them all again for your viewing pleasure. I was going to schedule this post for the afternoon but decided to just go ahead and post it now!

Unfortunately for me, this came at a really awful time for my nails. I am in the middle of final exams, I'm doing more hours at work for the holidays, plus Christmas preparations around my house, PLUS spending the rest of my time doing holiday nails for my friends and family... My nails and hands have taken a serious beating. Worst nails ever!
I had an awful break last week and I tried to hide it by rounding my nails off but I just don't like that look.
So you're getting no new close-ups from me today! But I did manage to take some festive photos and I will include an older one just to show off my purdy polish.

Wouldn't you like to find this under your tree?

Of course I never get sick of seeing my beauty! Siren Song is my pride and joy. It fills me with excitement every time someone posts a picture of them wearing it. I'm ecstatic when my friends buy it, and even some of my friend's moms have bought it! I couldn't be happier about this whole experience and I truly do love wearing my polish.
It's one of those shades I could wear again and again and I am really delighted about that.

I love when people ask me what polish I am wearing and I get to tell them that it is mine!
At first I was always carrying one around to show off. HA!

You can find Siren Song at picturepolish.com.au or from many of their international stockists.
Be sure to follow PP on Facebook and Instagram because they post lots of great manis!

My pals at Nail Polish Canada are still offering free shipping on any order within Canada! Check that out, Canadian chums.

Have you picked up a bottle of Siren Song? Share photos with me!

november haul 2013

Hey girl heyyyy. Time for November's haul post! Do we remember how bad I was in October? This month was totally the opposite! Like... It's kinda scary actually.

I don't have a photo, but I picked up one polish from an indie restock on Nail Polish Canada like a total bandwagoner:
Emily De Molly - You Don't Own Me

I got a polish in my Ipsy bag! Haven't tried it. Might give it away. Meh.
Nailtini - Caviar Cocktail

And I bought one polish set from Winners! Glitterrrrrr.
Ciate - Corrupted Neon Manicure - Foam Party (polish color Boom Box)

CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE YOUR EYES? I BOUGHT THREE POLISHES! THREE!

And not only did I only purchase three polishes, but I also gave away about 30 and also swapped/sold more. GO ME.
But we will NOT talk about any Urban Decay purchases bye!

Dance Legend - Elafonisi

Hello everyone! Long time no see! Here in Rebecca-land, things have been busier than ever. I've got more school work than pretty much ever before, working more hours than ever before... Soon it will settle down for a while. It is almost there. So I decided to start making a big effort to post all of December!

I am totally in a delightful mood with the holidays approaching, so what better time to start some fun posts up again. And P.S. - even if I am missing from here you can usually find some of my antics on Instagram.

Today I'll show you a really pretty textured polish.

Dance Legend - Elafonisi
This is a light pink sweet-as-candy textured polish. I normally do not like textured polishes if they aren't also sparkly, but I think it works for this color! And the texture is small and even enough that it definitely looks like a sugar coating rather than an incurable disease.

Whenever I wear textured polish, guaranteed someone will just start touching my nails without warning. If that alarms you, maybe you should stay away! Haha. They're just so intriguing and unique, especially for someone who is not as polish-educated as us.

These polishes retail for $9 and there are a few ways to get your hands on them.
You can find them on their website, but shipping can be unpredictable from Russia.
Stockists such as Ninja Polish and Llarowe also carry them!
