Sonoma Nail Art - Halloween In The Vines

Hi.
Here's a pretty polish that was made by a friend and given to me by a different friend! I love friends.

Sonoma Nail Art - Halloween In The Vines (over China Glaze That's Shore Bright)
This was a Halloween polish (obvi) from Michelle @ Sonoma. It's so cute! Purple silver blue pink!
This is two coats over the base color.

This is a manicure I could wear for days! No complaints. :)

spongey springy mani

I liked the new Essie spring polishes so much that I wore two manis with them in one week! That's craziness.

I decided again that I wanted to wear all four colors at once. So I did this sponged/blotted look! (With glitter on top, of course.)

To get this look, I started by painting all of my nails with Essie - Bond With Whomever, the darker of the two purples.
Once that was dry, I added a coat of Essie - Avenue Maintain (blue) and then quickly I blotted most of it off with a balled-up tissue. This removes most of the wet polish but leaves some in a cool textured pattern. And the results are different every time!
I then did the same thing with Essie - Go Ginza (lighter purple) and Essie - Madison Ave-hue (pink.)

On top of all that, I added Sonoma Nail Art - Wine Country Wedding, a really cool white glitter.

It looks a little bit acid-trippy, right? Haha! I'm loving it!
I got a ton of compliments on these nails, too. What do you guys think?

Sonoma Nail Art - Chalkboard Nails

Today's polish is brought to you by two lovely ladies that I am proud to call my friends!

Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art and Sarah from Chalkboard Nails teamed up to create this awesome polish to represent Sarah's blog. And lucky me, I got a bottle!

Sonoma Nail Art - Chalkboard Nails
As you can see, the polish is inspired by an actual chalkboard! Complete with different sizes of white glitter and shimmer as the chalk dust. There's actually green shimmer too which I was not expecting!
This is three coats and the formula is great, as always from Michelle's creations.

So happy to have this polish in my stash! It'll always be special to me and a nice reminder of the friends I have made through my blog!

There's actually ONE bottle of this in stock right now as I am posting... Go go go! Click here to go to the listing. (And I'm sorry if you're too late.)

Keep an eye out on Michelle's Facebook page and Etsy shop to find out when the next sale will be!

Sonoma Nail Art - The Puck Stops Here

Hey guys!

I'm writing this post super quick because the polish I'm about to show you is currently in stock in the fabulous Michelle's Etsy shop, and I want you to see it and have a chance to buy it! Her polishes don't stay in stock for long so hurry and check out this post and then run to the shop! Hehe.

Sonoma Nail Art - The Puck Stops Here
This is a gorgeous wintery blue glitter polish that is totally packed with glitter, shown here is just one coat of glitter over Deborah Lippmann's On The Beach. (Yes, I put a winter polish over a polish referring to beaches. It makes no sense. Get over it. I'm over it.)

Please ignore how I have blurred out the label, my bottle does not have the official label but a personal photo instead so I'm covering that shizzz.
I tried to take pictures without the label too but of course those didn't come out as nicely as the ones with the label, so blurring it is...

This polish is just so nice and glittery and wintery and the formula is great as always from Sonoma.
I have not regretted any of my purchases from Michelle, her polishes are always wonderful.

If you like this polish, it is currently in stock, along with a few others! But it will not last long!
Head to the Sonoma Nail Art Etsy shop to pick up this baby. And tell Michelle I sent ya. Hooray!

31dc2012 - day 7

I've been trying to write this post for a few hours now, but I am just not in a talkative mood!
Let's see what I can come up with to say about this manicure...

Day 7 of the 31 Day Challenge is Black and White.

I have been meaning to do black and white checkered nails for ages and ages, so I finally got around to it!
And I'm really happy I did because they're super cute.

As you can see, I smeared the stinkin' stamping AGAIN.
I do not know why I cannot seem to do a manicure without smearing it lately. Seriously. Who am I?
(Like I mentioned before, I think it might be a weird bottle of Seche Vite... Let's hope it is. Otherwise I am just losing my touch. Haha!)

I love the accent nail with the black and white glitter! It really pops over the pink glitter. And it breaks up the mani a little. Gotta have accent nails.

Here are the polishes I used for this manicure:

The white I used for the base is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Whirlwind White.
I stamped using an Essence image plate, using Konad Black.
The awesome pink glitter is Orly - Bubbly Bombshell and the even-more-awesome glitter on top is Sonoma Nail Art - My Three Glitters.

I haven't shown you guys My Three Glitters before so here is a quick swatch of it that I have floating around:

Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art is one of my very favorite indie sellers and I am happy to call her a friend! This is one coat of glitter over China Glaze Dance Baby.
There are many glitter polishes like this floating around but this is one of my faves. It has some cool black diamonds in it but I sadly didn't get any in these manicures.

I don't know why but I really liked the photo I took of these nails on my iPhone so I included it here. Heh.
Hey look! There's diamonds on the thumb! Told ya. I really dig the diamonds.

Aaaaaand one last photo of the black and white mani.

I love the accent nail so much that I wanna wear it as a full mani... But alas I cannot as I have to keep going with my challenge manicures! We'll save that for October then, I guess.

One week of the challenge is now complete! It's going fast.
Now I'm off to do my metallic mani for tomorrow... Toodles!

my 500th post, featuring Sonoma Sunset!

Hello and welcome to the 500th post here at Rebecca Likes Nails!
500 is a lot of posts, and I've put so much time and energy into them, but the love I get back from you guys makes it worth it!

I wanted to do some simple nail art to commemorate the occasion, so I laid down some rhinestones and stamped on a cute 500! (However I didn't have an exclamation point stamp so I freehanded that one on and it doesn't look so great.)

The numbered plate I got on eBay but it's available from Konad as well. I stamped using China Glaze - Millennium
But what is this beautiful polish underneath?

That would be the amazing Sonoma Nail Art - Sonoma Sunset by my friend Michelle.
It's a stunning purple glitter that I'm so glad to own!

I had a really hard time getting a macro picture of the glitter (because it's so darn reflective and besides that, my camera hates purple) but I think you can see pretty well. There's a whole bunch of different colors and shapes of glitter. It's awesome! And this is just one thin coat over the base color, which is:

China Glaze - Grape Juice.
A great shimmery purple that needs just 2 coats.

It's been a really long time since I've worn rhinestones and I forgot how funny they feel! Especially all in a line like this. I keep running my thumb over it.

It pretty much doesn't get better than glitters like this.
You can find this polish on Michelle's Etsy store, which is tentatively going to reopen on June 1st, but at this time I don't know if this one will be available. All her creations are amazing though, so definitely check her out!

That picture really shows the colors of the glitter nicely. Gah, I adore this!

Thanks again to everyone who reads my blog, whether this is the first post you've read, or the five-hundredth. I love all of you!

And now I'll get started on the next 500...

i'm home! / april haul!

Hey everyone! Back to live posting here from RLN headquarters.

I had a fantastic time on vacation, spent a ton of money, ate a whole bunch of good food, and of course brought home a lot of polish.

I'm gonna start this post with my usual monthly haul list, and then move on to the stuff I got while on vacation!
Before I left for vacation, I wasn't really being as good as I should have been...
