31DC2013 - day 6

Yoooooooo, sup. Today is Purple day and purple is my fave.
I decided to use one of my untried purple polishes, a beauty from one of my fave brands, piCture pOlish!

piCture pOlish - Warning
Hot damn, this is a good one. Shimmery purpley bluey goodness. Really happy with it! It needs three coats to cover completely but I don't even mind.

I didn't just wanna leave this solid today so I added some glitter and stickers!

Hello Kitty!!! The nail stickers were from Born Pretty. And the glitter is Maybelline - Lavender Sparks.

This mani was a little hard to photograph but I didn't have much time because my camera battery was about to die... Haha!

Ain't nothin' better than purple glittery HK nails. Am I right?

31dc2012 - day 25

It's Day 25! Today's theme is a fun one: Inspired By Fashion
Let's get right to it!

I found my inspiration in the dress that Kristen Stewart wore to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
I kinda wish I owned this dress. Haha. It's hot!

I'm really pleased with how this translated onto my nails!
Part of me wishes I did something Betsey Johnson inspired (like last year) but hey, I pretty much do Betsey-like things all the time, so it's nice to push myself into a different type of design.

I did this design using DIY nail decals, otherwise known as nail polish on scotch tape cut into shapes.
Yes, you read right - you paint some strips of scotch tape, and once they are dry, you cut off pieces and stick them to your nails! It is so simple, and a great way to get crisp lines and shapes.

I did this sort of thing once before, seen here - and check out the step-by-step as seen on The Beauty Department.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep is the silver base for my manicure. This is such an awesome silver polish, it covers in one coat, and I find the Insta-Dri brush to be ridiculously easy to work with. One coat and no clean up necessary? Yes please!

The colors I used for my "decals" are:
Color Club - Almost Famous
Color Club - Where's The Soiree?
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Trouble Maker

Don't forget a thick coat (or two) of topcoat to seal in your decals so they don't peel off.

I love the contrast of the metallic and the cremes, and the random shapes really pop!
Which nail is your favorite? I think the index is my fave.

6 more days to go! Yikes! Almost there!

Zoya Savita gets laced up with Born Pretty stickers!

Hey guys! Tonight I'm going to be showing you some cool nail stickers from Born Pretty Store.

I was lucky enough to receive a bunch of different stickers/nail decals to try out!
There are Hello Kitty stickers, Angry Birds, some bows, lace, and flowers!
I'll be trying out most of these but to start out, I have a manicure to show you using these pretty white lace ones.

I was worried that they might be really obvious and thick on the nail but they are actually awesome!

The stickers don't really look like stickers once you have them on the nail. They are thin, and blend into the polish. There's no obvious bumps. I'm very impressed!

You don't have to be extremely careful because once you lay it on your nail, you can move it around if it isn't perfect. When you get it in the right place, smooth it down and get out any wrinkles.
Once you seal them with topcoat, they stay on well! I wore this for 24 hours before removing it and did not experience any lifting.

I used the same sticker to do the four matching nails. I used cuticle nippers to closely cut the edges to match my nails. And then for the index finger, I used one piece of a sticker that I clipped off.
I found it really easy to clip them with the nippers.

The base polish I used here is Zoya - Savita, a beautiful purple matte polish with an amazing formula! It takes 2 coats and of course, it dries super fast because it is a matte.
It really comes alive with topcoat, as you can see in this next photo!

Such a gorgeous purple!
And I love these stickers. The lace designs are really cool because there is no way I could paint that on so perfectly!
I have the same stickers in black as well and I am imagining them over nude polish! I'll have to try that out soon.

Overall, these stickers really impressed me! Thumbs up for sure.
You can buy these specific ones right here, but check out all their sticker selection because holy cow, there is a lot!

And don't forget, they ship free worldwide, and you can use my coupon code for 10% off your entire purchase.

Have a great evening everyone!
And check out my Zoya giveaway if you haven't yet!

31 Day Challenge: Day 21

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the final section of the 31 Day Challenge! If you want a refresher of what exactly this challenge is, head to my Day 1 post.

This final section of themes are all inspired by something or other. Today's theme is Inspired By A Color.

I wasn't quite sure how to go about this one, and then I chatted with a friend about it, who gave me the great idea to make it inspired by a polish color, and use the name to enhance the inspiration!
(That friend, is Sarah from Chalkboard Nails, and she is awesome! Seriously check out her blog. She has been doing this 31 Day Challenge right alongside me and she has blown me away every day!)

I looked at a few polishes, seeing which names could make a good design, and I settled on this one:

H&M - I Love Candy. Yep, another Hello Kitty polish from the lovely Line in Denmark.

This is a 2-coat shimmery purple polish, awesome formula, awesome color!

It's full of pink shimmer. Very nice! The quality of H&M's polishes is shockingly good.

Now, to bring in the inspiration from the name! Candy!

Cute little candies!

Awkward hand position to try and catch the last bits of sun coming in my windows!

I used a very small brush to draw on these candies using polishes from the China Glaze Kicks Collection:
China Glaze - It's Poppin' (pink)
China Glaze - Entourage (green)
China Glaze - Sky High Top (blue)

What would this design have been without some Hello Kitty decals? Haha! Too cute.
These stickers are from Born Pretty.

Thanks, Sarah, for helping me find the right inspiration for this!
