Shimmer Polish - Cindy, Elsa, & Carmen

Hey guys! I finally got my butt in gear and finished swatching all the magnificent glitterbombs from Shimmer Polish! Here come three beauties.

As I say every time, Shimmer Polishes are very complex and full of so much fun glitter.
The formulas are wonderful, glitter-packed without being gloopy, and they can be worn layered or built up on their own.

Shimmer Polish - Cindy
This is the namesake polish for the creator of Shimmer! If I made polishes I would totally name one after myself too. Haha! This is three coats of Cindy on its own, no base color. You could probably get away with 2 coats if you weren't photographing the color - I wanted to make sure the red jelly was even enough for the photos. I'm still wearing this right now! Very glamorous. There's some holo glitter in there too for that extra punch.

Shimmer Polish - Elsa (over China Glaze - Bottoms Up)
Yummmmmmm OMG I love this one. I layered it over a hot pink which I think was a bit of a strange choice, but it really works! The base is slightly tinted pinkish, and there are all sorts of colors and shapes of glitter in there. Dayummmmm. I think I did two coats of glitter here because I wanted to mostly cover the pink but still have it peeking out. Gorgeous!

Shimmer Polish - Carmen (over China Glaze - Sun of a Peach)
Here's one of the golden polishes! Lots of sizes of golden glitter including very teeny microglitter for a very sparkly look. Into it! This is one coat.

Jini Goes Indie! by Girly Bits & MakeUpMom123

Hey everyone! I have a really special swatch for you today.

My dear friend Jini of MakeUpMom123 is about to celebrate her one year blogaversary!
And for this special occasion, she has teamed up with Pam from Girly Bits to create a special edition celebratory polish. And they did a great job!

Girly Bits - Jini Goes Indie!
This is an insane glitter polish, it has 25 different kinds of glitter in it! I won't talk about which glitters are in there, I'm sure you can see that it would be impossible to describe. Haha!

I used just one coat of glitter, plus a little bit of fishing for larger pieces to fill any spaces I felt needed more glitter. It was a great formula!

For these photos, I layered it over a gradient of China Glaze - That's Shore Bright and China Glaze - Too Yacht to Handle (which I posted swatches of yesterday.)

Here's what that looked like on its own:

Anyway, I'm freakin' obsessed with this amazing glitterbomb and it is even more special to me because of how special Jini herself is to me!

Besides all the glitter, there is also some great pink shimmer in there too which I think really ties the polish together. You can see it in the above close up. Nice, right?

I also wore it over solid purple, as well. (Again, China Glaze - That's Shore Bright. I can't stop using those neons!!)

Congratulations Jini! And here's to more great years of blogging.

This polish is currently available from Girly Bits for $10 CAD. Click here to go to the shop, and don't forget to check them out on Facebook for updates.

Soon you will also be able to purchase it from other international stockists - Llarowe, Femme Fatale, and Foxy Fingertips, but the release dates are not currently set. Keep your eyes peeled for that!

...AND THAT'S NOT ALL!
MakeUpMom123 is currently hosting a HUGE giveaway for her blogaversary, with TWELVE winners! Of course, it includes three bottles of Jini Goes Indie!
Click here to go to the giveaway. And good luck!

China Glaze Sunsational Collection - swatches and review!

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday.
Today I'm finally showing you swatches of all 12 of the beauties in the China Glaze Sunsational Collection for Summer 2013.

I don't often do this, but I splurged and bought the entire collection. All the colors were just so me...

The collection is split into two halves - the cremes and the jellies.
For those of you not familiar with those terms, cremes are opaque polishes with no shimmer, and jelly polishes are semi-translucent with a "squishy" look to them.

Several early reviews complained a lot about the formulas and that made me sad because I wanted them so desperately and I wanted them to be perfect. Despite the bad reviews I bought them anyway - and I was happily surprised. I'll comment on that as we go.

What I love about the colors in this collection is that they are mega vibrant, but without that extreme neon quality that some polishes have, which tends to look horrific on very fair-skinned ladies like me.
And neons are notoriously hard to photograph but I think I did a pretty good job!

I'm going to start with the cremes because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

seeing stars

Aloha! Time for another summery mani using the China Glaze Sunsational Collection for Summer 2013.
By the way - I finally have all 12 of them swatched and I will be posting my full review tomorrow!

Since I bought this collection a few weeks ago, I truly have not stopped wearing them.

The base color here is China Glaze - Shell-O and I added OPI - Yule Love This Silver on top for some added sparkle. And then some stamping!
The image I used is from plate Mash-49, and I stamped using Konad Black special polish which is my all-time faaaave black for stamping (duh.)

This manicure was so bright and in-your-face with the neon color and the huge stars. I loved it!

Now... Can you contain your excitement to see all the swatches tomorrow?! HA!
Toodles!
