rebecca likes nails is on facebook!

Hi guys! I finally decided to make a fanpage for my blog today on Facebook.
I've wanted to for a while but never got around to it until recently when I saw people saying they did not follow blogs without a Facebook because it was too difficult to keep up.
I don't want to make it hard for anyone to stay up to date, so now I have a page! And hopefully I'll be able to interact with more of you and it will be easier to contact me.

You can click here to go to my page, and please like it!
Once I have 25 likes I can make a URL for it, I believe.

I'm working on setting up a like button and a live feed for my sidebar - but it might take me a few days to figure it out. Haha.

P.S.
Have you entered my giveaway? It ends in 2 weeks!
If you like my facebook page - I'll add you in for another entry! Even if you don't follow via GFC, like me on facebook, and you'll be entered. (I will add all my facebook followers into my spreadsheet once the giveaway closes.)

old wet n wild swatches

Hi everyone, today I'm going to show you my other two Wet N Wild polishes from years ago.

I already showed you Shameless, the star of these three, here.

As I mentioned in that post, I am pretty sure that Shameless is at least 13 years old.
I am positive the pink one is 13 years old. I distinctly remember getting it in Florida when I was 7.
The green one is at least 8 or 9 years old.

Despite their age, all three of these polishes are still perfect!

The pink one is called 416A.

This is 2 coats. It looks a bit streaky but that was not visible in person.

This color is similar to one of my favorite pink polishes - Orly's Blushing Bud.

About half of the bottle of 416A is gone - party due to the fact that I wore this a lot when I was younger, and also partly due to the fact that I spilled a lot of it on my friend's leg while I was painting her toes with it. I can remember that clearly as well.

This green is 454C.
This polish is actually really nice! 2 coats.
Last year when I got into nail polish, I wore this one a LOT because it was one of the most interesting colors I had at the time.
It is a dark green with pretty almost-golden shimmer. A bit metallic.
It is similar to Sinful Colors San Francisco.

Similar, but not dupes. San Francisco doesn't have the golden shimmer which really makes the WNW one cool.

These polishes really prove that you don't need to throw out your nail polish after a year or two like some people suggest!

vote for me in More Nail Polish's franken contest!

Okay... third post today.
More Nail Polish had a franken contest and I entered!

I couldn't enter Rebecca Likes Cupcakes, as I had already posted it. So I made something different.
But I regret not just making a different color of RLC. (OH MY GOD THAT IS MY INITIALS, HOW PERFECT!!)
Anyway, I made something different and in hindsight, used a terrible photo for my entry.
So I'm pretty positive that I'm not going to win the prize, which is a gorrrrrgeous polish. Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Turquoise Opal. Diesssss for it.

Here is my contest photo:

Pink-182!! Good name right?!

Anyway, here are some better photos. (Grr. What was I thinking?)

This one is not perfectly focused but shows the holo glitter better! And everyone loves holo.

And that one's just prettier.
Oh well! I probably won't win, but at least I have a cute new franken.
(I won't be making any more of this one though, I don't want to use up more of my City Lights. I only made a few mL's.

Vote for me if you like it best, guys :)

undies-inspired series: purple leopard

Hi guys! I have posting fever. I hope you don't mind when I post twice a day, I just have a lot of stuff to post!

After the great response to my undies-inspired nails, I decided to make an undies-inspired series! I've never done a series before.
And I've got lots of cute undies that would make cute nails.

Today I have another leopard undies mani.

These are my favorite undies, and I have them in three colors. So you'll eventually see the other color schemes :P

This is Revlon's Violet, with Orly's Oh Cabana Boy and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White.
Do you guys like when I link back to swatch posts? Do you find it helpful?
I hope you do because I love my swatch project and I love when I can link to every polish in a post. Lol.

Out of the polishes I have listed on my swatch page (meaning, the ones I own that are brand names, not no-names) I have 49% swatched.
139/284. But not all of them are posted yet.
(And like 17 of the 284 aren't here yet so I have more than half of the ones in my possession done.)
(...Only half done! Ah!)

l'oreal - party hop VS. sinful colors - purple diamond

Good morning!
Today I have a comparison for you.

L'Oreal's Party Hop and Sinful Colors Purple Diamond.
I bought Purple Diamond because it looked really cool in the bottle, but was really unimpressed with it's sheerness. It does not look like it does in the bottle.

And then I got Party Hop, on sale, thinking, "hey, this is a cool purple, I don't have anything like this."
And then I put it on, realized how sheer it was, remembered Purple Diamond, and got disappointed.

This is Party Hop. It looks decent in photos, mostly because the flash lights up the shimmer. But it does not really look this good in person.

See? Very sheer.

And this is Purple Diamond. Again, the flash makes it appear less sheer, but do not be fooled.

Quite sheer.

Purple Diamond is a more vibrant shade, but it is a bit more sheer than the other.
The swatches are four coats.

So as you might know, layering this kind of polish is better. But these ones don't layer that nicely.

Party Hop, Purple Diamond. Over white, purple, and black.
I thought it would be more visible over black but it was pretty lackluster.
I like it over white but it would probably be hard to get a non-streaky result.
Over purple it can give you a cool effect too - which I showed in this post where I used Purple Diamond to try to create my own version of a Zoya polish.

Do you need both of these polishes? Absolutely not.
Unfortunately I accidentally ended up with both.

Today I am going on another swatch marathon I think. :)
