31 Day Challenge: Day 4

Good morning, and welcome to Day 4 of my challenge!
I am pleased to be showing you a polish I truly love today, for the theme of Green Nails.

This is Zoya - Ivanka and this was sent to me by a lovely lady named Rachel who I totally adore!
This was my biggest Zoya lemming. Thank you Rachel!

Basically, it is like liquid emeralds on your nails. Beyond gorgeous. I'm staring at my nails as I write this!

It is so glittery and pretty, yet the finish is totally smooth because it is glass-flecked and not actual glitter.

This is from the Sparkle collection, and boy does that collection live up to its name!
I took way too many pictures of this polish so I'm going to show you a bunch!

It flashes a bit turquoise around the edges, and then in the shade you can catch even more of that lovely aqua turquoise shimmer.

In the bottle you can even see a bit of purple and pink! But that wasn't visible on the nail.

It is so glittery that it is almost a foil.

See the aqua?! I just love it.
Thanks again, Rachel!

Day 4 - total win! Hopefully all the rest of the days will be too. :)

P.S. Have you entered my giveaway for Gosh Holographic yet? It ends on my birthday, September 13th!

31 Day Challenge: Day 3

Day 3 is Yellow Nails.
I like yellow nails slightly more than I like orange nails. But still not much.

I want to use polishes that I haven't shown before for the color-section of this challenge, meaning I couldn't use the only yellow polish I like, Almost Famous.

I only had one untried yellow. And it sure was not a pretty one.

This is something I bought from the dollar store. Is that CR? OR? I don't know. It has no name either.
See the description? Super & Ultra Brilliant Nail Polish.
Let me tell you, it is not Super & Ultra Brilliant to buy a neon yellow polish from the dollar store.

It was basically the consistency of neon yellow glue. This is 4 thick coats and it is still streaky.

I just don't understand the appeal of highlighter yellow polish. It is not a Super & Ultra Brilliant choice.

But I do like my neon yellow sunglasses. For when the sun is Super & Ultra Brilliant.

Yuck yuck yuck.
I am going to dump out this polish and use the bottle for a Super & Ultra Brilliant Franken.

Now that I'm done orange and yellow, I won't have to show you any more ugly polishes! Yay!
However, I am totally enjoying this challenge already! I think it was a Super & Ultra Brilliant idea. (Did I say that too many times?)
:)

31 Day Challenge: Day 2

Hi everyone!
Day 2 is Orange Nails.
You may know this already - orange is my least favorite color to wear on my nails. So I'm glad we are getting the orange day done with in the beginning of the challenge!

The polish I'm going to show you today is the only orange polish I actually bought by itself. (All the others I have came in sets - if they weren't in the sets, I wouldn't have bought them!)
I bought this almost 2 years ago now when I was just getting intense about nail polish and I wanted every color possible.

This is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Sun Kissed.

As far as orange goes, I just don't like wearing it!

This is 3 coats of color for perfect opacity.

I like orange when it is with other colors, though. Like the nails I did in my gradient zebra tutorial!

Yesterday I showed you my red nails with my red walls, so here are my orange nails with my orange sneakers! I'll try to show you some matching color things every day this week!

I wanted to add something on top of this color to try and like it a bit more, so I went with Kleancolor Mix Signal.

But the glitter ended up looking yellow over the orange, and yellow is another color I don't love on my nails!

So this was a big fail, and I took it off!

Tomorrow's theme is yellow which as I said, I don't love either. But then, after that - all the colors I love!
Have a great day guys!

31 Day Challenge: Day 1

Hi everyone! I've decided to take part in the 31 Day Challenge that I'm sure you've seen rolling around the blogosphere!
Me and some of my Facebook friends have decided to do it together for the month of September.

I'm not sure where this came from originally, but I am excited about it!
I know the first few days are a little boring, but once we get to Day 9, the fun begins and I will have some form of nail art for the next 3 weeks! (Wait... Am I crazy? I don't think I realized just how much work this is going to be!)

And of course, if I get something interesting or need to show you guys something, I'll make a second post that day. (As a matter of fact, I'm going to be doing a second post today with my August haul!)
Sound good? Here we go!

Day 1 is Red Nails.

I want to use polishes I haven't shown you before for the first week of this challenge, so today I'm showing you one of my recent purchases. OPI - Friar Friar Pants On Fire.

This is a gorgeous shimmery red, the perfect shade of red for my skin tone.
I am not a big red-wearer at all, but this polish might have turned me! I could wear this all the time.

This is a "black label" OPI - as you can see, the writing on the label is black, not green like the newer ones.
Black labels are old! This one in particular is from the British Collection in 2003, but I recently found it at a beauty supply store that doesn't get much traffic.
I bought it because it was old and on sale ($3.99!) and did not expect to end up loving it like I do!

Because it is so old, that means it does not have the Pro-Wide brush you find in the OPI of today.
Personally, I find the Pro-Wide brush quite difficult to use on some of my nails, so I'm happy this one doesn't have it!
The smaller brush allows me to paint much neater - I didn't have to do any cleanup on this mani!

Despite my previous dislike for red nails, I've always liked the color red! My bedroom walls are red, and my hair is bright red!

Maybe I'll be rocking matching nails and hair more often now!

I hope you guys are excited about this challenge, I think it's going to be fun following the schedule. Have a great day!
