I Love Nail Polish - Matthew Peri

Good morning everyone!

Have you heard of the indie brand I Love Nail Polish? You're about to!

First of all - can you believe this is indie polish? I sure can't.

I Love Nail Polish (or I♥NP or I ♥ Nail Polish or ILNP) started out as a Facebook page for polish lovers and has branched into polish-making!

The polishes come in these adorable boxes. It reminds me of high-end polish brands.

The packaging impressed me so much, I kept taking pictures. Haha!

I adore how the bottles have the printed logo, and another major plus is that the bottle handles are slightly rubberized for good grip! Again, reminds me of high-end polish.
It really makes you feel like you're buying something high-quality and not something just thrown together.

Super impressed so far.
But what about the polish itself?

I Love Nail Polish - Matthew Peri
The polish itself is fantastic, too. Hooray!
Matthew Peri is a clear base with "periwinkle, gunmetal, navy blue, and prism glitters in various sizes and shapes."
I layered it over OPI Russian Navy Suede and they made a lovely pair.

Mmmmm, glitter.

I just love everything about this polish. The box, the bottle, the label, the cap, the polish itself...

This polish retails for $10 and you can buy it right here in the Etsy shop.
Ships worldwide, too! Hooray!

I have three more beauties to show off to you soon so keep your eyes peeled for those.
In the meantime, here are some bottle pics to tease you...

Until next time!

China Glaze - It's A Trap-eze!

Good morning!

You've no doubt been seeing a lot of posts around the blog world about the new Cirque du Soleil Collection from China Glaze.
It is a cute collection but I decided that I only needed to own one of the polishes. And I'll be showing you it today!

China Glaze - It's A Trap-eze!
Isn't this lovely? A white jelly that is basically overflowing with bright glitter.

The formula is a bit tricky to work with because there is just so much glitter in the polish. You've gotta take your time spreading it out, but it does dry quickly.
I needed to apply three coats to cover up all bald spots.
You definitely want to use a thick coat or two of topcoat because it is a little lumpy.

It's just such a fun polish to wear! Anything that has glitter in a milky base is a win for me. I just like it when my nails look like cupcake frosting. Too cute.

I definitely recommend this one, guys! Pick it up if you see it.

Lastly... I like this polish because it reminds me of this:

Hahaha!

Elixir Lacquers - Lov-a-Bully Collection

Hey guys! Good morning!

Today I'm going to be showing off four polishes from the Lov-a-Bully Collection from Elixir Lacquers.

10% of each bottle of the Lov-a-Bully Collection sold will be donated to the Atlanta Bully Rescue, an organization that works tirelessly to reduce the number of unwanted bully breeds in Atlanta and surrounding areas.

Elixir Lacquers - Spotted and Splotched
This is a clear base filled with small brown glitter and large white hex glitter. Like spots on a puppy!
Shown is two coats over Essie - Don't Sweater It. The hexes weren't hard to fish out. Spreads nicely.

Elixir Lacquers - Brindle
Small brown and orange glitter with bigger black hexes, clear base! Two coats shown over OPI - French Quarter for Your Thoughts. The black hexes needed a little fishing to get enough out but it wasn't that hard.

Elixir Lacquers - Blue Coat
A lovely dark blue shimmer! There's some holographic microglitter in there too but my lighting situation yesterday was not having any of it so sadly you can't see it in my pictures.
The formula of this one is great, it covers in just two coats.

And I've saved the best for last...

Elixir Lacquers - Happy Tears
Love this one! White hex glitter, small blue squares, in a shimmery blue jelly base.
I layered it over China Glaze - Bahamian Escape, and the blue jelly changes the base color just slightly, also adding the cool blue shimmer.
The glitters weren't hard to get onto the nail, this is two coats.

Happy Tears over Blue Coat! They make a nice pair!

You can purchase these polishes here from the Elixir Lacquers site, $10 for 15mL.
As always they are Big 3 Free and cruelty free.
Don't forget to also check out EL on Facebook, and Nicole's blog!

What do you guys think? I love polishes that support a good cause!

Elixir Lacquers - Peppermint Barque

Hello darlings! Today I have a super festive polish to show off to you on my appropriately festive blog. Yay!

The lovely Nicole from Elixir Lacquers/Nail Polish Wars created this beauty and sent it to me for review. Let's see it!

Elixir Lacquers - Peppermint Barque
I love Christmas polishes! Here we have different sizes of red and green and white hex glitter in a clear base, plus lots of tiny iridescent glitter.

I layered two coats over Zoya - Dove to show off the bright glitter on a neutral base. It wasn't difficult to get good glitter coverage but I did fish for a few pieces to fill in some gaps.

You can see it layered over lots more colors in Nicole's post! It looks good over pretty much anything. Her post also includes the other two polishes in her Holiday Trio!

You can purchase this polish here from the Elixir Lacquers site, $10 for 15mL. Or get the trio for $25!
Don't forget to also check out EL on Facebook!

What do you guys think? Rocking any holiday polishes yet?

On the subject of the holidays... Check out this Christmas gift I bought myself yesterday:

Cupcake pillow!!! Yes. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Essence Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 Collection

Confession. I am a fan of the Twilight movies. Nerd alert.

I was planning to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 with a friend and I said "Hey, why not wear my new Breaking Dawn polishes to the movie just to make this extra nerdy!"

I did my nails the day before I was supposed to go to the movie.
I couldn't pick which one I wanted to wear so I decided to wear all four. Hooray for skittle manis!

But then something annoying happened. They all started chipping and wearing away after just 4 hours of wear!
I can't believe how crappy the weartime was on these. Essence polishes are usually so great and I always get great wear from them, but whatever they did with these ones is not good.

All of my nails were crap after just a few hours and I ended up changing the manicure before I went to the movie. Bummer.

It's too bad they sucked for me. The colors are nice. I want to like them. But I can't.

I was going to do full swatches of these but they made me too mad so here are some one-finger swatches.

Essence - Alice Had A Vision - Again
This one is my favorite color of the bunch, I love the deep shade with all the purple glittery flakes.
Two coats and it covers well!

Essence - Jacob's Protection
This is the blue version of the first polish. Again, covers in two coats which is great for such a dark polish.

Essence - Edward's Love
This one is really pretty, black with silvery flake glitter. Hard to capture. Again, 2 coats.

Essence - A Piece of Forever
This is a warm yellow gold that is sadly a bit streaky. This shade of gold is not my favorite, not something I'd usually reach for.
This one did seem to last the best of the four so if you like it, it might be decent!

I don't usually have any issues with polishes not lasting so this sucks.
Booooooooo.
I'll try one again sometime to see if my results are any different.
