Hey everyone! Are you ready to see some more Glitter Gal swatches?
I know you must have loved them yesterday... Both Purple and Marine Blue went out of stock on Llarowe!
Today I'm going to post the three shades Glitter Gal released earlier this year. I'm not sure if the collection had a name or anything, but these three shades were a major hit within the polish community!
Let's see if any of these three lovelies will be out of stock by the end of the day...
Glitter Gal - Lizard Belly 3D/Holo
I have to admit, I did not understand the hype for this polish... Until it touched my nails.
When seeing other swatches, I really thought that this was basically black and there was no need to own it if you had a black holo already. But this is actually so green in person! I think my photos capture the deep green accurately.
The formula on this is ridiculously awesome, it covers perfect in 2 thin coats or maybe one thick one if that's how you roll.
Again, with Glitter Gal there is no need for special base coat and each coat of polish applies easily and without dragging.
I really love this. A lot. The fact that it is so dark yet still so holographic is awesome!
The other two from this collection are lighter.
Glitter Gal - Frappe 3D/Holo
This one is basically girly holographic perfection. This one is my other favorite (along with Dark Purple from yesterday) out of the 18 I have at the moment.
This is a purple-toned pink base with the awesome holo I have now come to expect from Glitter Gal!
This one needs three coats for the best coverage and again it applies flawlessly.
Don't those last 2 pictures make you want to run to Llarowe and buy this?
It's just too cute!
Glitter Gal - Light As A Feather 3D/Holo
This one is a very light gray color with a more subtle holo.
The formula on this one is not as amazing as it is on the others, because of the color. You need to be more careful to avoid bald spots but it is still easy to apply. You need 3 coats to cover fully and even then it can be a bit translucent.
It helps to layer this over a milky basecoat or a white just to give that extra bit of opacity.
It's so pretty and delicate. Definitely a work-appropriate holo polish (if such a thing really exists!)
I can totally see why these three shades were really popular! I consider them all must-haves!
If some of the polishes you want are out of stock, don't worry. A new Glitter Gal shipment is on the way to Llarowe and they should be available soon!

new layout! + reader comparison request
Hey everyone! Just wanna make a little post to let you all know that I have a new layout for my blog!
This is the first time I have ever changed it since starting my blog. (Which was almost a year ago!)
Sarah from Chalkboard Nails changed the colors of the background for me and I made the cute header. (Are you surprised it has a bow?)
Now my blog is totally "me" and I adore it!
Now for a little comparison to make this post more interesting.
Earlier today I posted some Glitter Gal swatches as you know, and a reader named Candice asked me to compare Glitter Gal - Dark Purple 3D/Holo and OPI - DS Original.
There you go, Candice! As you can see, they aren't close in color at all.
I know I've been saying all this time that DS Original is my favorite polish ever... but... after seeing these vibrant Glitter Gals I sort of feel different!
I know there will be more comparison requests with my Glitter Gal swatches (and I will mention similarities as I go along) but I think I will wait until I have all the Glitter Gals and do one big massive holo comparison post. Sound good? :)
I'm going to go stare at my blog some more now! It's too pretty. Have a lovely evening!

Glitter Gal - Blue 3D/Holo, Marine Blue 3D/Holo, Dark Purple 3D/Holo
Hey everyone! And so begins the Glitter Gal spam...
As I mentioned before, the lovely and generous Llarowe has picked me to be one of the swatchers for her website. What that means is, I will receive every Glitter Gal polish, swatch them for the website, and also get to post them here for your viewing pleasure!
Yesterday I swatched the 18 Glitter Gal polishes that I currently have, and I showed some preview pictures to friends on Facebook and let's just say, a lot of lemmings were created!
I apologize in advance for all the drooling you're going to do for the next few days.
I've decided to split up my polishes into sets of 3. Today I'm going to be showing you two blues and my favorite of the first 18 I received, the purple!
Let's start with purple. Prepare to add this to your wishlist...
Glitter Gal - Dark Purple 3D/Holo
This is officially the most beautiful holographic polish I own. Hands down!
The holo in these polishes is beyond amazing. It's different from other things like the OPI Designer Series, and different from China Glaze OMG or Kaleidoscope. It's so pretty and sparkly and the rainbow is intense.
And the colors are so saturated! That's what I love the most. Sometimes the addition of holographic pigment can dull the intensity of a color but these are not dulled at all. All of the colors are so vibrant!
Not only are these amazing to look at, but they are amazing to apply.
Out of the 18 that I swatched, there were only two that required any clean up after applying.
They basically apply themselves. The brush is great. The formula is great.
This is 3 coats for total saturation. The coats don't drag each other and you don't need special base coat.
Could it be more awesome?
If there is one polish you get from Glitter Gal, I think it should be this one. No question.
Can you believe I still have two more polishes for this one post? Let's keep going...
Glitter Gal - Blue 3D/Holo
This is a bright blue holo, again with a flawless formula. 3 coats for full vibrancy.
Again the vibrancy of the base color combined with the intensity of the holo just blows my mind.
I could look at these pictures all day long. Are you drooling yet? Are you on your way to Llarowe to buy them? Haha!
Glitter Gal - Marine Blue 3D/Holo
Amazing! I'd call this a royal blue, again ridiculously vibrant and super holographic.
The formula is inky and so pigmented, you can get away with 2 coats for this one. Again, applies like a total dream.
Blue lovers, this is a must-have. Just like the purple is a must-have for purple fanatics like me!
Was this too much awesome for one post? Nah.
More Glitter Gals coming at you every day this week! :)

december haul + 2012 previews
Happy new year everyone! I know a lot of us have had a difficult 2011 and I hope better things are coming for all of us in 2012.
Before we talk about 2012, let's finish off 2011.
Ah, December. The month of copious shopping and money-spending.
Let's see just how many bottles of polish ended up in my shopping cart or in my mailbox in December...
I bought quite a few sets of things, for good prices:
Color Club - Backstage Pass Collection
Barielle Shades 5-pack (Swizzle Stix, Decadence, Buddha-ful, Du Unto Others, Slate of Affairs)
China Glaze Memorable Moments minis ($6!) (Oxygen, Stellar, Bridezilla, Silver Lining)
Color Club Femme Fatal minis ($5!) (Worth The Risque, Revvvolution, Where's the Soiree?, French Tip)
I got a Secret Santa package: (Thanks Brenda! You totally spoiled me!)
China Glaze - Sea Spray
China Glaze - Medallion
China Glaze - Party Hearty
Savita - Purple Hologram
Set of 9 Wet N Wild minis
I got an awesome Brazillian swap! (Thanks Marilia!)
Butter London - Stroopy
Lynnderella - Gotta Love Brains
Hits - Rocker Chick
Hits - 367
Hits - 368
Ana Hickman purple polish
I picked up 4 of the new Finger Paints flakies (for a good price with a good coupon!)
Twisted, Asylum, Flecked, Motley.
Santa brought me three polishes:
Nicole by OPI - It's All About The Glam
Nicole by OPI - Kim-pletely In Love
Nicole by OPI - Follow Me On Glitter
Other stuff:
Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Ruby Diamond (Thanks Hayley!)
China Glaze - White Cap (free!)
China Glaze - How About A Tumble? (Thanks Chelsea's blogsale!)
Pretty and Polished - Midnight Rider (Thanks Chelsea's Etsy!)
Hard Candy black mini ($1!)
Nicole by OPI - I'm A Belieber (Thanks Rhonni!)
Del Sol - Trick-Or-Treat (clearance, $2.47!)
Cosmetic Arts - No name green with pink shimmer
Awful iPhone photo but look at that! Green with strong pink shimmer? I had to buy it because of how different it is. Anyone know if this has a name?
As I mentioned once before, I was chosen by Llarowe to be one of her swatchers so I had a Glitter Gal haul! I'm going to begin swatching these babies as soon as I'm done with this massive post.
This month was bad. I'm a sucker for deals.
Now let's talk about 2012!
My January haul is already bad, too. I know what is on the way to me... But just know, in advance, that I got amazing deals. And I'm going to try not to buy much more in January.
(I'm also not buying clothes in January... Or shoes...)
It's going to be hard for all of us polish addicts to stay in control in 2012... Here's some reasons why:
I might as well give China Glaze my wallet now. Really. Just take it.
Zoya keeps killing me too...
Have. You. Seen. The. Swatches? Skylar, Tru, and Lotus will be joining my stash ASAP.
Essie is up to her usual tricks...
Most of those don't thrill me but there are a few interesting ones.
Orly's new collection looks potentially promising. I'll wait for swatches.
I haven't heard anything from Color Club for 2012 but I'm sure they'll get a chunk of cash from me, too.
My wallet gets a little sad when OPI does such awesome collections.
Actually, my wallet is a little sad about 2012.
I'm off to do some swatching! Have a lovely day!
