paisley nails inspired by Chalkboard Nails!

Hey guys! Tonight I'm going to show you some adorable paisley nails I did, which were inspired by my polish bestie Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. (If you aren't already following her - check her out. Seriously. Her nail art is awesome and her photos are beautiful!)

She recently posted these paisley nails and I knew I had to try it.

Tada! I think they came out really nice.

For this design I used:
OPI - Skull and Glossbones (base color)
China Glaze - Shower Together (blue)
China Glaze - Rich and Famous (pink)
China Glaze - Spontaneous (purple)

I used a super tiny brush and dotting tool for the design. It took a while!

Look! I even copied Sarah's hand position ;)

I didn't even bother to attempt this design on my other hand... Here's what I did instead:

Big messy dots in matching colors. (I was in a hurry.)

I thought it looked cute after I did the first two rows so I snapped a picture of that too.
(As you can see, I am still awful at taking pictures of my right hand.)

That's all for today!

  1. SUPER cute..I might try this out. I don't have all the colors, but I'll make it work :)Question: for the majority of your pictures, you use flash?

  2. I love that you didnt attempt it on your other hand. My last mani, I had the same problem and went with a simpler design on it :-p

  3. I love these :)
    The colours are really nice

  4. Both hands are very cute, love the paisley.

  5. @Aesthetically-Yours - yes i do! a lot of people use a light box or sunlight but i don't get a lot of sun where i am, and i just find that my flash gives me the nicest photos. (camera jargon - your camera has to be on a macro setting and it helps to have the white balance set to a flash level as well.)

    and thanks everyone!!

  6. this is awesome Rebecca! Definately adding it to my 'to do' list :)

  7. I simply like the colors you used on all these nail designs. So subtle and dainty at the same time! My favorite is the first. :)

  8. Beautiful! Love both versions.

  9. ooo I love the colors, I might try this design too. How did you do the dots? I've tried doing it freehand but I end up making dashes instead of dots lol.

SD - Thanks for the camera tips!

  10. They look very cute but the last photo/design stole my heart ;)

  11. Both of these designs are absolutely beautiful ! I'll have to try the first one (:
