Rescue Beauty Lounge - Scrangie (+ zebra!)

This post coming to you from a very cold and snowy Newfoundland... We are having a blizzard! Some people are forecasting up to ONE HUNDRED CENTIMETRES.
AKA, I'm never leaving the house again until spring.

My power will probably be gone within a few hours... Oh my! I hate winter. Guess I should hurry up and get this post done.

Today I'll be showing you a very pretty polish with a not-so-pretty pricetag and a pretty disappointing formula.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Scrangie
I know you know where that name comes from. If you're reading my blog, I'm sure you also know Scrangie! Who doesn't love good ol' Scrangie. She created this dream polish with RBL!
It's pretty hard to get your hands on nowadays, it is no longer sold from RBL. So look for it in blog sales, etc. RBL retails for $20 so prepare to pay that or more for it. Which is pretty ridiculous because I found the formula to be crap.

The color payoff is gorgeous... But it took three/four coats to cover, and it shrunk in every direction, so I had to add more coats the next day to cover the gaps, and then it chipped quickly to boot.
Color me unimpressed. But I do love the color...

I added some stamping to the manicure to spice it up a little!

To bring out the awesome teal shimmer, I stamped some teal zebra!

The zebra image is from Konad m57 and I did the stamping with Sally Hansen Color Quick Chrome Pen - Teal Chrome.
I was happy that my polish pen was still working despite not having used it in over a year. Some of them dried up I think but thankfully not this one because it is my favorite.

What do you think of this manicure?
Have you guys tried a super expensive polish only to be totally let down by the formula?

I'm going to go build my igloo now... Sigh!

  1. Maybe that's why Halifax is so freaking windy today, there's a storm system.. or something. I don't really know what I'm talking about.

What a bummer about the formula :( I'm wayyy too cheap to pay $20 for a bottle of polish though. At least it's pretty?

  2. I wish America could be normal and use the same measurements as the rest of the world! Yeesh! I actually had to look up what 100 centimeters was in inches! Lol! And I agree. I would not leave until Spring, either! Haha! I love the teal zebra stamping on top of these nails, though, they look gorgeous together!

  3. I hate to say this, but it's like spring in Toronto. A lot of our snow has melted.

I don't even want to think about what this polish would cost now on evilbay or blogsales. But too bad about the formula, it not only sounds disappointing but just plain weird with the shrinking. I have a few high-end polishes (including a few RBLs) and so far everything has been good. But I agree $20 for a poor formula is pretty bad, especially when RBL sells itself on superior formula!

  7. It's so pretty! And your mani is super cute! But I don't think I'll be paying the 20$+ for something that might disappoint me :(

  9. A friend loaned me this polish and I HATED it. Formula is awful- when I gave it back to her she said she hated it too but thought maybe I'd have more luck with application. Nope.
