31dc2012 - day 6

Hey guys! This post is coming to you today from a very stressed out Rebecca. Haha! I am supposed to start classes today but I'm freaking out about my selections and parking and requirements and... Ah! Everything.
I do this to myself at the beginning of every semester. Hopefully I'll be calmed down by tomorrow!

Today's 31 Day Challenge theme is Violet.

Purple is one of my favorite colors to wear on my nails, and I had about a million ideas for violet/purple day, and it was really hard to decide what to do.

I really wanted to wear a new polish I had just gotten so I went with that, and then couldn't capture it nicely in photos. So I added more glitter (because that always makes things better) and ended up with a pretty cute manicure!

Deborah Lippmann - Let's Go Crazy
This purple glitter beauty is a polish recently released from DL and it is exclusive to Nordstroms. My amazing friend Marissa ordered this for me, thank you Marissa!
Capturing this polish in pictures is impossible. It is so pretty on the nail, so classy and dark but with all the fun glitters peeking out. But in pictures it looks pretty blah.
Please trust me on this one, the polish is truly lovely! I'm so happy to have it.

I seriously took like 100 photos of this polish and resulting manicure between last night and this morning. I think I ended up with some decent shots but man, it was hard.

Let's Go Crazy is essentially a purple jelly version of Lippmann's Happy Birthday. The glitters are all the same as Happy Birthday, but the base is deep purple instead of clear!
I'm wearing 2 coats in the photos, the base builds up really quickly.
The formula was awesome, easy to apply, fast drying.

Look how pretty the bottles are. I love Lippmann bottles.

I decided to add a glitter gradient from the cuticle with Happy Birthday to try and bling up this manicure!

And it really worked! (And thankfully my camera was able to make it look cute now! Haha!)

I used a sponge to add the glitter at the cuticle. When using a sponge to transfer glitter you can really get a high concentration in one area. Super glittery.

I really like the depth of the glitters inside Let's Go Crazy, and then the super sparkly Happy Birthday on top!

Coincidentally, my birthday is just one week from today... This is a Happy early Birthday glitter gradient...

My iPhone allowed me to show the glitter in another light:

There's something I like about that picture even though it is really grainy.

I hope you guys liked this manicure, despite my photography problems!

Bonus photo: Marissa also sent me this amazing Betsey Johnson ring and I have to post a picture to show it off because OMG she spoiled me. I'm so in love. Thank you Marissa!!!

It came while I was wearing my blue manicure from yesterday! Blue mani blue ring. It matched. It was perfect. Loveeeeeeeee.

  8. I hate it when glitter looks amazing in person and then crappy in photos- but stop beating yourself up because these came out perfectly gorgeous! I wasn't a huge fan of this polish and now I kind of want it- so thanks. A lot. So much for not spending too much this month.LOL!

  11. I have to respectfully disagree with you about Let's Go Crazy. I tried in on at the Nordstrom's counter and really disliked it. I find the jelly so dark that it buried the glitter. I like DL Candy Shop and Forget You, but not this one. I suggest people see it for themselves, it's not for everyone.

  14. It's actually not Nordstrom exclusive. I literally just found it at Murale (the shoppers drug Mart cosmetics store) in Vancouver, BC. The sales assistant was wondering why I was doing a happy dance in front of the display : )
It's such a pretty colour - and it's available in Canada too! Yay!
