31dc2012 - day 7

I've been trying to write this post for a few hours now, but I am just not in a talkative mood!
Let's see what I can come up with to say about this manicure...

Day 7 of the 31 Day Challenge is Black and White.

I have been meaning to do black and white checkered nails for ages and ages, so I finally got around to it!
And I'm really happy I did because they're super cute.

As you can see, I smeared the stinkin' stamping AGAIN.
I do not know why I cannot seem to do a manicure without smearing it lately. Seriously. Who am I?
(Like I mentioned before, I think it might be a weird bottle of Seche Vite... Let's hope it is. Otherwise I am just losing my touch. Haha!)

I love the accent nail with the black and white glitter! It really pops over the pink glitter. And it breaks up the mani a little. Gotta have accent nails.

Here are the polishes I used for this manicure:

The white I used for the base is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Whirlwind White.
I stamped using an Essence image plate, using Konad Black.
The awesome pink glitter is Orly - Bubbly Bombshell and the even-more-awesome glitter on top is Sonoma Nail Art - My Three Glitters.

I haven't shown you guys My Three Glitters before so here is a quick swatch of it that I have floating around:

Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art is one of my very favorite indie sellers and I am happy to call her a friend! This is one coat of glitter over China Glaze Dance Baby.
There are many glitter polishes like this floating around but this is one of my faves. It has some cool black diamonds in it but I sadly didn't get any in these manicures.

I don't know why but I really liked the photo I took of these nails on my iPhone so I included it here. Heh.
Hey look! There's diamonds on the thumb! Told ya. I really dig the diamonds.

Aaaaaand one last photo of the black and white mani.

I love the accent nail so much that I wanna wear it as a full mani... But alas I cannot as I have to keep going with my challenge manicures! We'll save that for October then, I guess.

One week of the challenge is now complete! It's going fast.
Now I'm off to do my metallic mani for tomorrow... Toodles!

  5. Just added Bubbly Bombshell to my wish list :) I really like the pink glitter accent nail with the b&w checkerboard! And how the b&w glitter ties it all together.

  8. Uh that accent nail is amazing! Who would have though those 2 glitters would work so well together. Love this entire mani :)

  9. I have the Konad top coat and it is the only one I've found that doesn't smear when I do stamping. I heard that if you wait longer than usual to put a top coat on it won't smear as bad. I LOVE the accent nail :)

  11. this mani is so amazing! I love everything from the checkerboard to the pink and the glitter. Everything looks so good together! And I've been smearing designs for the whole week now.. I think the challenge is just making me a little more impatient than usual.

  12. I love both manis! Everything goes so well together. I suck at stamping, but seeing all these great designs make me want to learn how to do it properly :)

  13. I always smear my stampings, idk why, I even wait a while before applying top coat and I still smear the image. Very frustraiting. But I do like your nails, I have always wanted to do a checkered mani.

  16. CUTE!!!!!! You totally rock this and it's so adorable!

I don't know how you manage all these manis--I'm trying to do a challenge and it's just once a week. I haven't done my nails yet (and it's my challenge #epicfail).

You are full of awesomeness :)
