power pink + silver shatter

Good morning guys, this isn't going to be a very exciting post because I am in a bad mood and don't really have much enthusiasm.

I do have one bit of exciting news - I got picked to be in piCture pOlish's blog fest! This means that they're going to send me one of their nail polishes to review. Bloggers all over the world will be getting one of their polishes and the aim is to have swatches of all of their colors posted on the same day all around the world.
It's pretty exciting. Both Kayla Shevonne and I were chosen! So that was exciting.
Oh, and thanks to your votes, I've moved on to the top 6 in Swaafie's nail art contest! It is now up to the judges (her family) to decide who wins. Thanks for helping me get this far!

Oh also I don't think I mentioned this - on Saturday I was told that Michael's wasn't getting more JetMax cubes aka melmers back in stock, and I returned there on Monday for something else, and there were a bunch there. The manager who told me she didn't think more were coming obviously knew nothing as it was 2 days later. Anyway, I now have 2 melmers and once I get some shelf liner I'll be filling them up and I'll do a new post on my storage.

Okay, on to the nails.
I realized I didn't have a swatch of one of my favorite polishes - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Power Pink. In my favorite polishes posts a while ago, this was my #1 favorite, but I've gotten a lot of polishes since then and I don't really think it is my favorite anymore. But it's still up there.

I think it is the perfect shade of pink and the shimmer makes it so pretty. A+, Sally Hansen. I have over half of this bottle gone. The only polish I legit will need a back up of, probably. (And I already have it.)
2 coats.

Apparently I applied this in the dark, these photos are showing some pretty terrible application mistakes. Hah.
Either way, still pretty.
And then I added OPI's Silver Shatter.

I really like the look of Silver Shatter.
I don't think I'm going to buy many more shatter/crackle shades though.
I want OPI Turquoise Shatter and probably the gold China Glaze one. I don't think I'll get more than those.

I applied the shatter over a fully dry coat of Seche Vite.

I should have left it without topcoat but I rarely can do that, so I added Seche Vite. But I prefer it before the SV.

It gets more sparkly but I prefer the different textures before the SV.

That's all for me today. I hope your day is going better than mine.
I'm off to watch Boy Meets World on my laptop until my shift is over and I can go home and be sooky there.

  4. That's an awesome combination! Sally Hansen makes so many amazing colours, a good chunk of my collection is from their Xtreme Wear line.

    I love Boy Meets World!

  5. Sorry about your bad day--hope it's getting better by now!

I just bought 4 of the Pure Ice crackles last night, so I'm evidently not over them yet. :)

  6. I just got the Turquoise Shatter from OPI and I can't wait to try it out. It looks stunning from what I can see in the bottle.

Hope your day has brightened up. :)

  7. Congrats on being chosen for picture polish's review and making it to Swaafie's contest finale.

Would you believe I am only now getting into the crackle top coat? It occurred to me that I can wear the fun super bright neon shades if I do a crackle top coat. I love the neon colours, but I would never want to wear them on their own.

    Pink and Silver win!
I have only one crackle in my collection. I'd like a black one for sure.

  9. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
